The artwork was good and the story cute, but, as there is always a but, it left me a sour taste at the end, definetly not what I'd expect after seeing the anime.

Not really. The artwork is really great and all, but the ending was a real cliffhanger. Ayatsuji's arc deserves a whole season all for itself damnit!
