Spoiler:
Hopefully they keep the strangling scene too.

Episode 9:
Spoiler:
I still have no idea why Saazbaum would reveal that he was among those who desired the death of the princess. Wouldn't it have been better for him to state his backstory first so that Slaine and he would have common ground in "do not trust Martians" at least?

Additionally, I find it funny that the princess is totally willing to arm-throw a harmless member of the bridge crew, but can't do anything while being strangled. I thought the previous episode was setting an example to show how if she got into a physical confrontation with someone we'd know she was capable of defending herself without it looking like an asspull or something. But that doesn't seem to have the intent considering the whole strangulation scene.

I'm Ok with that.

Spoiler:
Saazbaum places value on integrity more than intelligence, as shown by the assassination plot to carry out his vendetta against the royalty and keeping his promise with Dr.Troyard. Saazbaum is fully aware that Slaine has no way of escaping his Landing Castle without his say and that Slaine is also recuperating from his injuries, it's not like before where Slaine was freely running around Cruhteo's castle resulting in his escape. Besides Saazbaum being completely honest better establishes him as an ambiguously evil character and Slaine will probably accept detainment more readily if he knows that Saazbaum is this upfront, integrity more than intelligence.

Spoiler:
Partially I feel like that was pretty asspullish as well(including Asseylum throwing the bridge guy), but I'll try to defend it regardless. Well you said it yourself the crew member is harmless and she had the initiative in that situation, however in this situation Rayet probably has combat experience(judging from her movements) as well as being fit from that experience and the initiative with a suitable weapon, meanwhile the Princess likely only received formal training(or maybe Slaine just taught her how to throw people for show) judging from how she apologizes before throwing people and probably couldn't kill someone which only limits her options.

Onto the episode. Called it.
Spoiler:
Inaho has his clutches on Rayet too.

Ehh I feel like Aldnoah lately is hanging too heavily on surprising the viewer to provide suspense, especially with Asseylum's second almost death.

Cruhteo really dead? Maybe. Probably.

So all that's left is for Saazbaum to sorely regret letting Slaine use Tharsis in the upcoming battle, assuming he's been knighted-which I suspect is done through fluid transmission. Old man Rayregalia frenching male Orbital Knights. Boners over Asseylum's shower scene are officially dead.

Two episodes left.

Spoiler:
It shows how much an element-of-surprise tactic has an upper hand in battle, even against someone with more experience (though, in this case, Rayet's attack is an unconsious, sudden burst surprise attack than a well-prepared one). In case when the princess thrown down Inaho and the bridge member, she had her guard up and also had initiative to counter. In the case of Rayet's, the princess had none of them. She was overly shocked of the attack, and thus acted like other people when got strangled down: tried to loose up the strangulation instead of taking down the strangler. Not to mention, wet shower room is also not really a good place to counter such attack.

Just a little ramble from far-reached of my mind.

Eps 10:

Spoiler:
No comment about the princess' fate... for now.

With the example of Deucalion-the princess, we still can hope for Crutheo's survival even when Tharsis is already shut down (and soon, will be manned by Slaine... for whatever reason). But well, time will tells... in the remaining 2 eps.

2 more eps left for the last battle...and the gun-pointing princess' scene

Spoiler:
My feeling is that Rayet being able to strangle the princess wasn't so much of a surprise but the princess did not even try to slam Rayet against the wall or anything to actually dislodge her grip.

Episode 10:
Spoiler:
Cruhteo is 100% dead. I was pretty certain before, but this episodes seals it. Aldnoah doesn't turn off for no reason. At least it looks like we will still be able to see the Tharsis in action anyway.

I like how Inaho's explanation for "trusting" Rayet afterwards is the same reason he shot Slaine down. Good job, writers.

Aldnoah Zero season 2 confirmed to be released this January in the Winter season.

http://haruhichan.com/wpblog/24152/aldnoah-zero-anime-second-cour-airing-winter-2015/

Not really surprising considering how this season is panning out and the amount of stuff teased but not shown, but still really damn good news.

... As expected, though I'd like to see the ending of this 1st Season first...

EDIT: Just read the article. So it'll be like Fate/Zero.... Meaning I shouldn't expect much from the 1st part ending......

I really need to give this show another chance when I get some time. I tried watching episode 1 a while back and ended up extremely bored before even reaching the half-way mark, but I've been hearing nothing but good things about it.

Just try to watch it until eps 3. If you still don't like it, better don't advance any further. It's not like this title is everbody's cup of tea, after all...

I plan to! I usually give anime four episodes, but episode 1 didn't seem too interesting and I had other stuff to watch, so I decided to come back to it when I have more free time - probably when this anime season is wrapping up in a couple weeks.

Also, since a second season was confirmed for Winter 2015, I wanna catch up so I can join the party.

Nothing really special happened this episode, just building suspense for the finale.

And so....

Spoiler:
Slaine: He's still trying too hard.... it's better if you don't meet the princess, for she'll shoots you!
The Princess: Warrior Princess Mode, on!
Saazbaum: Seasoned Commander indeed.
Inaho: Mr. Reckless Strategist.... still in his poker face, though.
Inko: "Bullets are attracted to a coward".... YEAH RIIIIIIIIIGGGHHHHTTTT
Rayet: "I-it's not like I'm helping you or anything, baka princess! I-I just want to kill more Martians this way!"... Oh wait, wrong script......
Yuki-nee: "You better not die before completing your harem, baka Inaho!"... No, really...
Eddelritto: "I've played Initial D in Vers before! Now watch me RAWR~!"
Tharsis: ".......WHEN WILL I GET INTO ACTION, DAAAMMMMMMMNNNNIIIIIIITTTTT...!!!"

That's all of my silly comments. Do ignore them and enjoy the episode.

Ending of 1st Season next week... Hopefully.

I love how he keeps on using trainer mechs. I can't wait for the last ep and its cliffhanger (that will make me itch for months for season 2).

Anyone notice that the BRE@TH//LESS ost of Mika Kobayashi is completely english? I've been thinking of this song every time I'm entering a battle in my current games.

I think both 'Keep On Keeping On' and 'No Differences' are also in English...

Spoiler:
Hmmm, there's a chance that Tharsis will falls into Inaho's hand instead of Slaine in this situation. I wonder......

Spoiler:
If Inaho survives through Season 1, he might be than Slaine (sorry, Slaine). But whoever gets Tharsis, I guess it'll be the Princess who activates its Aldnoah Drive.
