The characters seem lackluster, bland, and not dynamic compared to the 1st season.

Probably because DEEN's behind the animation this time....

its still ok to watch and it is fun .. some eps were blehh

The last entire arc was particularly boring though, at least in comparison to the first season. There were some events going on on the side which I really appreciated, but overall this arc could have been made one or two episodes shorter without any drop in quality in terms of storytelling. I didn't hate it, but I wasn't really amazed by it either.

Giving DEEN the second season wasn't the best decision IMO, I don't know what the "political" process behind that decision was, but I for one enjoyed Satelight's rendition very much.

The quality of both artwork and animation is a lot lower than in the first season, and that one was already pretty average. On a purely technical level, I'm not enjoying the second season so far. I still like everything else though :p

I actually preferred the designs of season 1, the characters looked a lot less edgy (in a geometrical sense), but that's just my opinion :3

Oh boy, I feel bad for not keeping this thread active. Then again, real life stuffs and anime viewing sometimes do not go well together.
Spoiler:
Anyway, I've managed to get to episode 8 where the maidens arc is done hopefully. I will admit that I do agree with TheJ4cK about the arc. It could've been a few episodes shorter with more scenes about the raid in Shiroe's side preferably, or even about the ongoing goblin war. I have to know what happened to Krusty and more info about the flavor text of that scythe though definitely they will talk about them in details in future episodes. Animation wise I'm not really so sure about it since I'm already too lazy to start comparing qualities between this season and last season, but it's watchable so far that much I can say. Thank goodness this is a 2-cour so that there's more things to add in though I hope they don't rush things too obviously that even a non-LN reader like me could notice. Back to the story, I wonder how Akihabara will handle the monster invasions now that the magical barrier is shut down.

So far so good. Can't wait for more episodes to come.

First of all, I do not like the way this season is drawn compared to the last.

Second, I am not a fan of alternating plot lines especially the way it has been handled so far.

Third, the pace is pretty bad... which it should not be since it is alternating plot lines.

Those being said, I still enjoy Log Horizon. I can't wait for the next few episodes, things should get interesting for our raid group.

i will say that i like the Raid boss fight its was fun to watch

dont think there will be more like that :/

I have to agree that the pacing is pretty awkward. Half the time it's so relaxed and you're just suddenly transitioned into an epic arc. Same problem with the last season with it's lackluster ending.
HOWEVER, dang do they do it right catching the spirit of an MMO and what it's like. Ep10 is an amazing example of that and I can really relate close to that
