Code Geass: A retrospective

What are your thoughts about the series when watching season 1 and season 2, as well as the films?

I watched season 1 and 2 about 3 years ago. I actually watched it mainly because I was going to play Super Robot Wars X, and knew there were characters and mechs from Code Geass in the game, so I decided to watch the anime in order to have some prior knowledge about them (and also not having the game spoil the anime).
I remember being pretty bored during the first season, but I decided to give it a chance, and keep watching, and for whatever reason I found season 2 way more interesting. I'm happy I gave it a shot, because I ended up really liking it. Well worth the watch in my opinion, and I'll probably rewatch it sometime in the future.
