[General] What anime got you into anime???

0
I started watching Anime pretty early, when i was still a kid. "Pokémon", "Digimon" and "Sailor Moon" was pretty popular in my country at the time and always ran on Sunday mornings on Television (yes I know, they may not be the best shows, but still, they have a value for me as nostalgia). I never labeled them as "Anime" as a kid of course, they where just Cartoons then. I stumbled across other shows several years later, when i was zapping trough TV-channels looking for something to watch and this channel had something called "Anime-Night" (Which would, by the way, fuck up my circadian rhythm for months). They basically showed a few episodes of a Anime every night until it was finished, and then they moved on to a new one. I watched them in this order:

"Ninja Scroll",
"Samurai Champloo
"Ergo Proxy"
"Black Lagoon
"Black Lagoon - The Second Barrage"
"Berserk"
"Naruto"

The channel was sadly shut down in 2010 due to reasons unknown, lack of viewers or money I guess. Still, I have that channel to thank for my interest in Anime and Manga.

Hm.... Probably... Inuyasha? Or maybe it was FMA? I started watching them both around the same time but never finished either, although I got more into anime after those.

Edit: OFT - I finished FMA Brotherhood, have yet to finish the original FMA. Probably because all the streaming sites america has suck. I had better luck when I lived in my wondrous homeland of anime.

Although Japan has a lot of its own problems. Many of the younger guys there are really incompetent these, and it seems like any male worth dating of Japanese origin is either taken or died long ago.

Not to say that's accurate, just my impression of the 'boys' of my homeland, compared the the 'men' here in america. Although even here it seems like there are too many homosexuals, because those 'boys' either lost interest in women because of their failures to get a girlfriend, or, in rare cases, they actually like men.

I have nothing against those who like their own gender, but those who resort to it because they failed to find someone to love in the opposite gender are becoming too common and i think those bastards need to stop being so spineless and keep trying like real men would. Like my Christopher, kyah he's so hot he could grill cheese with those muscles, and he's got a strong personality to boot, the perfect 'man' unlike these pansy-ass 'boys' who don't know how to get a real woman and gave up halfway.

Anyway, back on topic, yeah. FMA and Inuyasha started it all. His voice sounds funny when I hear it in english because the Japanese voice actors were better, imo.

The first anime i saw in my life was Dragon Ball Z but it wasn't the one who made me enter in the world of the animes, it was Hunter x Hunter who made my interest from anime very high and made me spent a lot of hours watching these incredible animations.

Hm well that is a tough one. Now my first anime that I have seen was Ninja Scroll, but then toonami came out and then that's when I started to watch more anime. At that time I didn't know what anime was. So DBZ came out, yu yu hakusho (think that's how you spell it), Ronin warriors, tenchi muyo, gundam wing, sailor moon and I think that's it. There were probably more but I don't remember. Then came Adult Swim and that's when FMA, Cowboy Bebop, Paranoia Agent (think that's the name) and Ghost In The Shell. Again think there were more but can't remember. Then of course came Naruto and Bleach and even Air Gear. So I actually grew from a small boy to a teen anime freak. I say I'm still need more to know/watch because there are a lot of people that know WAY more than me lol. Oh and I forgot trigun, black lagoon (first and second) and starting to get into strike witches, black butler and casshern. I believe that is it. But I think think there are more i don't remember lol.

Zatch Bell. I watched other anime before that, but I was never really interested in them beyond them just being other shows, and actually didn't even realize they were Japanese.

What hooked me was Sailor Moon but I didn't know it was an anime back in the day. Although I did know that it was from Japan and then I kept searching for "cartoons from Japan" and before I knew it, I already got into the world of anime.
