What about those of us on insanely tight budgets and who can't afford to go buying the good quality American editions* or even the good quality Japanese import editions**, and could probably afford the shitty ass Malaysian import editions*** if it weren't for the insanely high international shipping rates most places that sell those versions have? What will all of us do? This I ask of you, O great and knowledgable FAKKU Elder, the great information sage, Tsujoi.

[size=10]*Good quality in almost all cases, with complete, accurate, and grammatically correct subtitles which conform to normal spoken English.

**Good quality in most cases, with complete to slightly fragmented, fairly accurate save for the occasional typo, and mostly grammatically correct subtitles which conform to normal spoken English within acceptable parameters.

***Shitty ass quality in just about every case, with normally incomplete, inaccurate, and notoriously improper grammatical structured subtitles which conform to the level of english spoken by a parakeet, or 65 year old senile malaysian fisherman who learned English as a fourth or later language after Malaysian, Chinese, and Japanese; take your pick between the two. I really can't tell what the hell the subtitles are supposed to say when I watch my Malaysian copy of Ouran High School Host Club, I have to depend upon what I can make out from the mess they try top pass off as subtitles, what little Japanese I know, and what I can pick up from the images and inflection used in the voice acting.[/h]

I refuse to buy DVDs until "Professional" translations at least equal those of dedicated fans.

I am sick of those annoying yellow/white text that seems to scream "LOOKIT ME! NOT THE EXPLOSIONS! ME!!!!"

It really bothers me that I get better service for free.

Really bothers me.

Get a hobby you can afford.

Azrith: Fansubs are worse at times...Like when they leave certain words untranslated just because they like how it sounds.

from this POV you should go to your local pornshop/video rental store and buy your hentai instead of browsing fakku ^^

Who says you do?

And, sure. Fansubs sometimes leave words untranslated, but this is usually done to preserve the feel of the name/situation.

As an example: have you watched the Naruto dub? Jutsu this, Jutsu that...If pros were any better, they'd be shouting "Shadow Clone Technique!" instead of "Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Or

Watch Karakuri Ninja Girl with literal subs. Tsukikage is a name. Please stop writing Moonshadow.
