Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora

This is a new season show, with a very unique artstyle. The backgrounds and a lot of the machines and such are actual photos that they tweaked with animation, and then dropped in the animated characters on top of it. It's kinda strange at first, but I think I like it. It's actually a spinoff of Someday's Dreamers, if you've read the manga or seen the show. It is being directed by Osamu Kobayashi, who has worked on tons of shows in various capacities but is most well-known for directing BECK, Kimagure Orange Road, and Paradise Kiss. Also it has Kana Hanazawa as the seiyuu of the main character Sora (you may remember her from playing another Sora, that from Sketchbook ~full color'S~) who is a fav of mine. It's a slice of life/romance show, set in modern times and with magic in the world, except it's not omnipresent at all. I really like the relaxed and realistic feel of the show so far, and think it'll probably be the best slice of life show of the season.

The OP for a taste of the show/artstyle.

I doubt a lot of people here will like it. It's very...relaxed and slow.

Damn, you, putting it under that title, no one I didn't find it when I searched, jerk.

And yeah, it seems not many people here like the relaxed slice of life type, only the comedy type.

I enjoyed the first season enough to buy the dvd. Always wanted it to continue, but this season seems more like a rewrite or something. I think...been a while since I saw it.

It's actually a completely seperate storyline in the same universe. Basically a spinoff. I think they are doing both Someday Dreamer Manga spinoffs in this same show though. omeday Dreamers: Spellbound, which was the first spinoff about the character Nami, and the spinoff of that spinoff which is Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora.

Ok so what you saying is your supposed to watch the first season to watch the rest? or should I just watch the first season because it's good?

You don't need to watch someday dreamers, it's standalone. It's kind of a spinoff, but it's mostly just the universe that is the only thing that is the same.

Someday Dreamers is the only anime I ever decided to start watching that I didn't know what was and saw the DVD of an decided to try out. I really find the pace of it very refreshing.
