Cool Characters, nice music, ok story, very very nice look, over all a anime that was fun to watch from start to end.

Love Live! School Idol Project 2nd Season [8/10]
It's Love Live, it's good. I think the first season was a little bit better then this one, but it was still good.

Gokukoku no Brynhildr [8/10]
Cool anime. It dark and a little fucked up at times.
The only thing I did not like about was the ending...

Knights of Sidonia - 10/10

Doesn't matter if it's full CG, this was an awesome anime. Moving on to the manga since I suck and can't wait for next season. :P

Prepare for disappointment, mixed with some good bits.

Winter and Spring 2014

Spoiler:
Noragami 8/10 - Wonderful music, decent story and concept, funny, but the last plot kinda fell off. Well they tried with an anime original plot.

Nourin 7/10 - It's like Silver Spoon with PLOT (never watched SS, so don't quote me on that). It was funny from time to time and it was somewhat educational about agriculture.

Gundam Build Fighters 9/10 - Let's not fool ourselves, this is a Gundam commercial disguised as a Shonen tournament anime. Did that stop it from being good? Absolutely not. The characters were decent, the fights were fantastic albeit they were merely gunpla, it was funny, and plenty of references to past Gundam works.

Kill la Kill 5/10 -...I won't forgive the Internet for hyping up mediocrity. Shoddy story, nearly disliked the entire cast, overdone, obnoxious humor that at times was unnecessary when there were serious moments, inconsequential fights, cheap Deus ex Machinas, and a crappy final boss without a valid cause.

Magi the Kingdom of Magic 7/10 - Shonen as all hell but still watchable. Kind of went down the Harry Potter route with a school for magicians. Likable characters, cool soundtrack, and funny at times.

Black Bullet 6/10 - I really wanted to like this one. It had an interesting premise and there were adorable lolis. The anime was rushed to all hell making it impossible to have any solid emotional bits, general WTF errors, and I didn't like the CG Gastrea.

Gokukoku no Brynhildr 7/10 - Err...Decent. I liked the characters, there were some points that left me scratching my head going 'WTF', the music was OK (not a fan of dubstep though), I can't wait for the uncensored version because the steam and lens flare were just obnoxious.

Hitsugi No Chaika 8/10 - The plot was decent, I liked the characters (Chaika is too adorable), the fight sequences were done well. I can't wait for the second season.

No Game No Life 7/10 - Fantastic Music, Fun characters, the games were insane, the fanservice makes me yearn for doujins, and bright as hell artstyle. I can't say I liked the humor that much because there was so much reference spam.

KAIJI: ULTIMATE SURVIVOR

I liked it a lot but I kinda sorta maybe feel that each episode was dragged out too much in order to fit a cliffhanger in the end. Uhm I also liked that the yakuza gave him a choice and not kidnap him as they usually do in similar western movies. Now he only has himself to blame for the mess he's in. The art style was also new and I liked it even if their noses were huge and pointy.

Two anime down from seasons past that have devils and demons as the main characters

The Devil is a Part-Timer: 7/10

Spoiler:
Entertaining to watch, decent plot and characters, funny, but doesn't set out to do something outstanding or different. Maou has the tired case of 'dense MC' and worse, his cohorts even mumble about this.

High School D x D: TL;DR ahead, you've been warned.

Spoiler:
Yep, an anime I've avoided like the plague ever since it's release and talked down on by me every time it was brought up. I've seen the first episode two years(?) back and was turned away by the obnoxiously perverted MC and the gratuitous fanservice. I gave it a whirl this morning after finishing the anime above.

Needless to say, it wasn't bad as I thought it was. Upon going in, I heard it was gonna be a MOTW/harem anime. The anime tries to have some sort of plot. The characters, while nothing to write home about, weren't dis-likable. Issei is quite the pervert but has a heart of gold. Comedy-wise? Well, I watched the dub which was downright so hilarious at times because of the constant vernacular/ebonics. As far as the Japanese version, I'm not sure how it will fare since I haven't give it a try.

The fanservice, one of the biggest reasons for avoiding this anime in the first place, was...yeah, still a lot of it but not to the point where I wanted to outright drop it. The breasts had an audible sound effect. No, not like the comedic 'boing' you here in some anime there was the sound of flopping. Several times the camera would ogle a female character and go to a convenient spot for a panty or breast shot. The thing that bothers me the most about the fanservice is the fact that sometimes it would happen during a serious moment and it would be jarring. It didn't help when Issei got his power to strip women. I had to stop the video and facepalm when that seriously became a power for him. All said, the fanservice did make me wanna stop what I was doing and search for hentai ASAP when I was done so I guess it's done it's job at the end, right?

In conclusion aka non TL;DR rating

Spoiler:
7/10

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and it kept me interested enough to marathon it. It's somewhat different from the run-of-mill harem but nothing spectacular. Plot was OK, characters were too, the dub was at least funny, and the fanservice can be a bit much for some. I'll watch the second season since some say the plot improves. If the second season has me hooked, I'll be waiting on the announced third.

I wanted to finish Atelier before posting last season's ratings.

AOTS: Knights of Sidonia 10/10

Akuma no Riddle: 7/10 overall, but the ending ruined it. 4/10

Black Bullet: 6/10

Escha & Logy no Atelier: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky: Atelier was a surprisingly sweet and heart-warming anime. 8/10

Hitsugi no Chaika: 7/10

Mekakugataricity Actors: 7/10

NO GAME NO LIFE: Still can't wait for the rest of the LN to be translated. 9/10

Selector Infected WIXOSS: Madoka/10 Somewhat surprising ending. I must search for abusive doujins. 7/10

Currently leftover: Mushishi and Captain Earth.

Overall, the season was okay. Sidonia crushed all of the other ones.

Well I finished the AnoHana movie a few hours ago. Originally, despite AnoHana being my favourite anime, I didn't want to watch the movie. Once I had finished it, it was over and there was never going to be more. However, today I convinced myself to watch it.

Now I already have an extreme bias towards the show, and many many fond memories of watching it, and the fact that the movie was pretty much about remembering the events of the series, I was totally wrecked. Yes, I cried. For an hour and thirty-nine minutes. I was crying throughout the entire Movie. By no means was it a perfect piece of story telling like the original series, but the emotions you got from the series are brought back stronger than ever by the way they recap things in the Movie. It's incredibly well edited.

Now while the Movie itself is far from perfect (it's essentially bits of the anime cleverly edited around original material), the raw emotion it made me feel as someone who watched and enjoyed the show was incredible.

If you haven't already guessed I would give the movie a 10/10, it's a masterpiece at emotional manipulation and the closure it gives to the series in general was just superb.

Hellsing Ultimate also known as Smugface Ultimate AMEN Edition 6/10

It had a really strong opening but that fell apart once the London invasion started. Too many inane monologues that only comes off as pretensions.

The shift in tone whenever Seras was trying to be funny was horrendous. It goes from super serious vampire hunting to a silly kindergarten-budget anime. No, just no.

Sakamichi no Apollon 9/10

The one thing keeping it from a perfect score is the hopeless Ritsuko. Screw that bitch. The jazz and character development is amazing. It's just that damn Ritsuko.

I recently finished Mikakunin de Shinkoukei so I guess I'll drop a little review/rating.

What first appeared to be a simple Love comedy set up, with arranged marriage between a bland, quiet boy and a girl who is perfect wife material, with occasional sister hijinks, is in fact something slightly more. The anime took me far deeper than most love comedy shows ever do, revealing intricacies about the characters that make them even more charming. The cast itself is quite small allowing each character (barring the generic workaholic mother) their time in the spotlight. The show is in fact part love-comedy with cute misadventures on the side, part supernatural drama, part pure romance and thoroughly enjoyable.

Hamatora Season 1

Spoiler:
Minimum's are cool. Nice was OP. The supporting cast did exactly what was expected for this kind of story. Honey was easily the top supporting character. I'm sure in the original content (LN/manga/VN) the remaining Hamatora cast is more detailed. This is especially true of Koneko and the black guy who seemed to be perpetually polishing dishes and grinding coffee beans. Moral was a decent philosophical-style antagonist. The ending would have been great if the events at the end lasted more than the first episode of season 2.
