The Melancholy of Gurren Lagann

0
So I saw this link posted up on /a/ to a Youtube video. Someone had taken the 1st Gurren Lagann opening and put the Haruhi intro music over it.
The result..?
Well, I think you'll agree that the timing is freakishly dead on.
Anyways, enjoy.

I was actually quite surprised when I first saw the topic, but after watching it, I realized something.

If you think about it, all anime OP sequences are timed to their respective OP music anyway, so of course it has to follow the same sequence of Opening-Verse-Chorus with sets of 8 measures per section that is typical of Asian Pop music. So we have:

Opening (8 bars)
Verse 1 (16 bars)
Lead into Chorus (8 bars)
Chorus (16 bars)
Ending (8 bars)

So really, all the guy did was change the frame rate of the video to match the music. The reason everything seemed to fit perfectly is because the graphics are timed to change only when it reaches a new measure.

So put simply: all anime OP are about the same length so by tweaking the frame rate most OP can be substituted for one another?

That was just sooo amazing how perfectly they sinked up!

The one with the 2nd opening from Death Note was amazing too, but for a diffirent reason: The 1st was amazing 'cause the sinking up was a total coincidence, the 2nd one was amazing because it was funny as hell. :D

The first video made me cry tears of epic joy. Two of my favorite animes rolled up into one epic eggroll of epicness!

//three instances of the word epic!
