I've been caught up with a flurry of work and having a life, so I've only just gotten to writing a response to the idea. Thankfully I have a clean-slated weekend, so I might do some forum lurking when it hits Friday.

I've been pushing a similar idea, which makes each manga/doujin display the characters featured and the 'style/genre' that it's in [bdsm, loveydovey, softcore, tentacles and other related ideas that pop up in manga] [I was hanging out for something with Rei in it at the time, and didn't find what I wanted]

I don't want people adding stuff like "I <3 THIS ONE". That's what the comment system is for. But I'd love to see perhaps a few keywords about each one. Bloated interface is also of concern to me.

However. I can see this being abused. Yes, most users that attain the FAKKU Elite title really do care about FAKKU. But I think any sort of editing of a title-damaging [like adding Maggot to a tag] scale needs to be seriously avoided. I don't want to miss out on something awesome just because a fellow fapper wanted to laugh for a few minutes. I trust there is more intelligence within FAKKU, but knowing the internet a high percentage of you are 12-17 years of age. Which [at times] leads to a lack of maturity. It's not like we can prove your birth-date.

A display of the last edit a user made isn't something I'd run at. I could see it being like a bid for seniority "BUT I'VE MADE 1000 EDITS, SO I KNOW MORE ON [topic]" Interface-wise, I'm not sure where it would hop in. Perhaps the entire site has a graph with user contributions FOR THAT DAY, so people who have spent some time that day could be 24h recognized.

Some sort of quality control on the most recent releases. Anyone can rush in and add all sorts of crud after only reading a page. Not necessarily a total lock down on editing, but some sort of scrutiny period for 12 hours might be in order. Possibly 10 agrees makes it permanent, and then only an administrator could reverse the change.

summary++: Least abuse as possible, to save cleanup. Failsafe spam systems. Permission based editing. Tags for characters and the doujin/manga 'genre' and the ability to specify search within this group of tags. A report system for 'dodgy' tags. Making sure MySQL can take all them queries.

For now, that is all. Resume your daily tasks, fellow fappers-in-arms.

5 SEC LATER EDIT: I'd also think against a 'review' system. It's not like we're selling these doujins on Amazon, and I'd rather read 10-20 pages than read a 1-10 paragraph review. Phuleze. Perhaps we keep that to comments.

This is a big topic and decision, and it's easy to cough up more and more thoughts on the matter. I don't want to force users to read my pages of thoughts. I'll be back and forth to correct any of my ideas.

As for the image section, it would be kind of nice to be able to look up images by poster and view images that member has posted. Unless of course this is already been possible, then just ingore me, i'm tired XD

I was thinking though, a way to keep user manga reviews free of abuse would be a voting system like some sites i've seen use. Where if the post/decription was useful to other members and they vote on it saying so it would be pushed up or highlighted, while destructive or much less helpful posts could be minimized and read only if a user wants to or marked for a Mod to delete. A link to user reviews could be added to the download pages and with the voting system, members wont have to wade through a bunch of crap posts... Sorry if i was confusing.

As for tags and editing info on the manga pages, i'd say a Wiki level of freedom would just cause way too many problems. I think just allowing editing of Tags and artist info would be best... Maybe something like danbooru used, where any member can add or delete tags, but maybe it would be best for us to only allow Fakku elites or trusted members to change them as to avoid abuse as much as possible. The same tag system would be helpful for the image system as well

Anyways, just putting out a few ideas that popped up in my head XD

I know those guys upload are great, but because of rapidshare, megauploads, i just cant take it, i need to reconnect to change my ip every time i want to download, and i dont know why, but i tried the proxies, the hidemyass.com, the annoym but to no avail.

So i rathee hope there is another way to upload this... perhaps start my own H- upload servers? :D

Before I say anything, let me just remind you two that you are both among the most awesome people ever.

I don't think there's too much need to worry about people being idiots and changing information for fun. For one thing, we will only be allowing people with a certain amount of reputation (perhaps 5) to change the information. Furthermore, if anyone thinks they can try and be smart and mess up the info for fun, the banhammer will fall no matter the excuse.

So, I think the relative difficulty of getting a certain amount of rep, combined with the fact that you could be banned from the site for being an idiot, should be enough to ensure this system is not taken advantage of.

Thanks for uploading some new material onto the site guys.
@ Jacob sorry for not giving you any covers for those manga

Pretty interesting new feature at the top of the page under the existing menu bar but a bit bland. Maybe spice it up with some colour?

Well, even so, it would be nice to come up with some ways to take some of the strain off our awesome admins =P. There's just no reason we can't take some precautions so that you all aren't having to spend all day deleting the occasional bad posts/edits on all the manga on FAKKU.

Damn, the new Spice and Wolf doujin is extremely good. The art is very high quality, and the interacting leading up to them doing it seems like it's very well done. I can't wait to see a translated version, it looks like one of the best S&W doujins so far, thanks for adding it here!
