There is this idea amongst feminists that society has a gender bias against women and so an employer will go "Oh you don't have a penis? Then you get paid less than Bill, even though you do the same job as him." When actually the reason women earn less is because they are more likely to take time off work than men. Women are generally the ones who go on maternity leave when they have a kid. And women more often than men decide to sacrifice a possible career in favorite of starting a family and having kids. So yes women overall earn less money than men. But this isn't because society has a gender bias against women but because of choices that women themselves make.
