Feminism is a movement of equality and tolerance :)

Feminism in its roots is an actual social justice movement. It got a substantial amount of stuff done, and most are happy with the changes it made.

Nowadays with the dumbest being the loudest it's devolved into some kind of female justification for disliking people with conflicting opinions. Feminism in itself is not a bad ideology. At the same time though, communism in itself is not a bad ideology either. It's what people do with it that makes it kind of shit at the moment.

Tumblr officially changed the meaning of the word feminist into female supremacist. Women like Anita Sarkeesian are paid thousands of dollars to be professional victims.

Oh god don't remind me of her. Isn't she the person who raised a kickstarter fund to make a series of youtube videos that essentially tries to point out sexism in everything? I'm not really surprised so many people put money into those things.

It's quite a travesty really. There are real problems on both sides, but at the same time there are real idiots on both sides as well. It's good that women have the power now to say these kind of things without fear of direct persectution (aka stuff like Sharia law) in the western world but abuse of power leads to these kind of things.

I'm sure Susan B. Anthony is rolling in her grave. She probably rolled enough to drill a tunnel to the center of the earth by now.

No, they're still feminist.

No, they fundamentally misunderstand the principle of Feminism. Therefore, they are not feminists. They're wailing harpies waving signs.

Fundemental principle of feminism never excluded protest and villafying of other groups. Also in their minds they're fighting a perceived injustice and form of equality. There is absolutely nothing wrong will calling them what they are and identify as, Feminist.

A few of them did a AMA on some site and again they were general misinformed on the event. In their minds men are too privileged to suffer any social/legal/health issues at large and that acknowledging them is detrimental to women's issues.(I am not kidding)

While it's not wrong to call them feminists I feel it undermines a lot of the good feminism has done in the past and is still doing in less developed countries, and also undermines the feminists who push for the right things in the west today.

I'll risk being attacked and not caring.

Why be a feminist when you can be a egalitarian. Being a feminist means your main concern is women and womens issues. If your main concern is equality for all wouldn't it be better to join the group that doesn't prioritize a specific gender? Unless my definition of egalitarian is wrong.

How females are portrayed in games is a problem that I believe will change soon. But Anita Sarkeesian is a lying cunt, and when people call her out on her bullshit she goes 'waaaah don't pick on me cause I'm a woman!'

Because egalitariansim isn't an organized movement. Simple as that. If and when egalitariansim does carry some weight, call me again.
- That said I do see myself as an egalitarian, it's what I call myself when asked about my stance on equal rights. However, if someone asks me if I'm a feminist, I say yes.

If feminism is mainly against rape, then how come rape is one of the most common sex fantasies among woman?

Also: How come the first part of this gif he is considered rape, and the second part he is considered a womanizer when he is clearly defending himself against a rapist.

I'd say portrayal of woman in any media is a slight issue, but it certainly is getting better. I say slight because of all the changes that have been done recently, to portray them more fairly. The whole idea of having a weak defenseless princess to rescue is far gone. Even Mario doesn't do that all the time(with Mario 3D World you can actually play as Peach, and in Galaxy Rosalina is an extremely powerful being).

Considering how extremely popular games such as Skyrim or Mass Effect, wherein males and females are of equal strength as well as stuff like Tomb Raider where Lara was changed from being a pretty blatant fanservice character to an actual strong female lead I personally don't see portrayal of women in games an issue. Sure lots of games have blatant fanservice in character designs (such as League of Legends, though they too have been getting better with it as of late) but male fanservice is increasingly popular as well. Considering the propensity for video games that feature female characters for them to kick major ass, I'm not really sure what the exact problem of female portrayal in video games is.

How woman are portrayed in media is not even an issue. You know what IS an issue? Woman that walk around in the day time with their elbows exposed! How deplorable!
