Rep is a pretty cool system (in my opinion) and it's unfortunate that people get so worked up about it and so abusive with it that Jacob has to shut it down or that threads have to be locked when people fight about it. Made me glad that I wasn't on Fakku when he removed it (temporarily) because I would've been pissed about that (truth be told).
If people really don't care about rep (no offense meant but), why do they complain? Reputation, as film pointed out, is a fun system. I'd hate it if Jacob ditched it again (for the sake of putting an end to the fighting). And like Waar said, who cares why Jacob (or ANYONE for that matter) gets massive amount of rep?
Try to enjoy the reputation system, it makes things interesting.
If rep is really that big a deal though, maybe it (sadly) does have to be eliminated.
