Someone nominated me for the ALS Challenge

Not gonna do it.



My Response to the person who nominated me:

"Unfortunately I'm going to pass. I would be dishonoring my values if I went with the flow and did something that my heart wasn't in. It's not that ALS is not important I just feel there are better causes that deserve attention too. This ALS Challenge is just too gimmicky and I am not one who does things just because others are too. My apologies."

Somebody put me up to that too. I said no because I gave to Parkinsons and Alzhimers charity already. Don't care for cold water either.

Pay the 100 loonies, davie.

Fuck you! I'm keeping my money. Need that for beer and video games. Plus, ALS get's around $40,000 in Government funding a year without donations.

$40 grand couldn't cure a hangover.

OT: Sure it's gimmicky, but it drums up interest and money for a good cause.

Good man. There's no need to give diseased people your support when they're at fault for getting it themselves.

The sheer amount of people who will donate and do the challenge annoys me. I gave money to a few charities and my idea of a good time is not getting a bucket of ice water dumped on my head.

Ice is meant for scotch people!

At least you were nice about turning it down. It's a good cause, but not every one has to do it if thy don't want to.
