still a virgin. wish i wasn't because my family is always teasing me about never having grand children. i have had some girls i had been interested in and even given hints that they have some interest in me. I am to afraid to take the initiative. it depresses me to find out that they like me but wont go out with me unless i take action. i just don't want to get rejected.

How do you think the girl feels when you don't take the initative? When she thinks you must not be all that interested in her if you don't take your role as a man and take the lead? Your fear of rejection is understood, but you have to realize this: So what if you are rejected? These girls are not better people or more important to you. The is no reason to think they are better than you, or for you to look up to them. You must of heard the saying "putting the pussy on a pedestal", and that is what you are doing. I wouldn't have a relationship with a guy if he didn't take the lead, becuase I want a GUY - not a pansy. Man up and give yourself the respect you deserve, because you said they gave hints they were interested. So obviously, you deserve to give yourself some respect.

I understand what you are saying. But, in a deeper note i usually question myself as a person. the me in the outside world of my home is a facade. would the girl really like me for who i am? (my personality clashes with my family and relatives). One of my friends tells me that I'm a totally different person in public. I also question my self if i can even maintain a relationship. what can i even do or give her to make her happy? i do not wish to disappoint her nor myself.
As you said, i need to respect myself. the person i am is not someone i respect. After i am able to change myself i believe i will have something to offer in a relationship.
