FAKKU Books: Uncensored!?

Henreader's first tankoubon is going to be released by Wani soon. If you guy's have the balls to publish that or any other full loli book in the West then I will support Fakku Books (hell I'll buy multiple copies). And I don't mean loli like in a Bosshi tank where there's a loli futa here and there, I mean loli as in full blown elementary schoolgirl fucking like Henreader. Ishikei, Pyon-kti, and Homunculus are great, but they're safe vanilla choices. I want rape, loli, shotas, mind break, you know hardcore shit. Henreader would be a great one to start cause it's as vanilla as loli gets. Publish that shit and you will earn my respect.

This will be amazing once and if it becomes a thing, though censor wasn't a big deal for me, it is still going to be great

Fact is that the massive majority of stuff that's been taken down won't ever be made available even for money. I doubt anyone's that naive.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't. But without this deal, we would have none at all.

Using maybes for both chances make it sound like 50/50 while it's more like 1/99. Most of those works won't be deemed profitable to warrant a translation even if they're risk-free.

We would have, however this deal caused Wani to be aggressive about this issue as whether westerners can access free stuff or not or means money now, unlike before.

You seem to forget that the takedowns started first and were the reason Fakku even proposed this deal at all.

I'm aware of that, however the reason Wani started this was to prevent Japanese from accessing content, they weren't in the western market so had reason to push further in order to prevent scanlated content in English. Now they do. Fakku turned the first encounter into an opportunity for itself at the cost of everyone else in the scene. The process that started will kill non-doujin scanlation as other companies begin to follow suit and there'll be even less translated content to access for readers. There's no doubt there.

I present Exhibit A, Wani's subsequent entry to the western market, before the deal with Fakku. I doubt their plans were just this modest, Fakku just managed to be the first to secure a partnership for the H releases.

And scanlations, including Wani material, are clearly alive and will be in the future. One group disappearing will just be replaced by another. One distribution channel closed will see another rise. It's how it has always been and how it will be in the future, for good or bad.

This might bring us more official English releases, though, especially considering Fakku's magazine simulpublishing plans. Obviously not for free, but no matter how much we love to have free access to all of this, it's really not quite legal and the authors would like to have some money for their work as well.

It could have been so, but then the reason would be another company. In this case, it's Fakku.

It doesn't really work like that as Crunchyroll demonstrated. Many groups died with nobody to replace them. Many groups now merely pick CR script and put it on TV recordings. And that was for anime, here we have hentai, which already limits the potential amount of contributors. It won't be how it has always been. Threat of legal pursuit will marginalize the output of the scene.

Overall, I'm not sure that'll be the case as there'll be many works that's going to be considered as 'unsuitable for western audiences'. Not to mention that some authors would be less preferred just based on sales figures. I'd happy to be wrong, of course but I doubt it as we already have many previous samples of what gets officially translated and what isn't on Fakku store.

Blaming Fakku for bringing you content that would otherwise just have disappeared isn't really helping anyone.

Crunchytroll caused a small break in fansubbing for about two seasons, after which many groups already started ignoring their (at least at that time) substandard translations and doing their own again. Some have died, yes, but that has always been happening as people move on to other pursuits or have less time due to RL commitments. I'm barely active myself these days, and certainly not due to Crunchytroll. Admittedly, I'm not happy with the simple use of CR scripts these days, though. Manga is much easier to work with than anime, though, so contributors will be much easier to find than for anime releases. Whether it is actually necessary, is debatable. We'll see once we see how this business goes.

As for "unsuitable", Jacob has already confirmed publishing loli, there's not much that would be more controversial these days. I guess the full extent of releases remains to be seen, but he has clearly shown interest in publishing as much as possible.

I'll just mention that Hentai is a niche market, I don't think "normal" peoples would delve far into that as it is unsuitable by nature.

We don't know that Wani really had intended for such a venture. But if we're to believe Jacob's story, a company would have no reason to work with a pirate of their works if they already made a move on the market themselves. They'd have someone else scheduled for this.

Dropping out due to commitments etc is the normal wear and tear ratio of such endeavors, however legal threats drastically reduce potential newcomers greatly, not to mention curbing already present in the scene, as we're seeing this year with this Wani episode. Hentai isn't really like manga though, it's still porn. So the people that'd be working on it are already way more scarce than normal anime or manga.

Whether or not if actually necessary is easy to answer: Fakku won't be doing every new work and they won't be doing every old work either. There'll be tons of old and new stuff that will be sitting out there. Anyone following the procedure of Japanese games getting localizations would be aware of the problem. There'll be stuff you want but will never get. It was always like this, but there was a chance that you might have gotten it later. Now that won't be the case. I'm checking top sellers in Japan and most viewed galleries on some sites, and it's safe to say popularity doesn't essentially mean good stuff.

Even though there are as controversial stuff, (there really is) I really doubt they'll be able to do lolicon in USA. They'd eventually have to take a seat over there. I'll believe when it happens.

Jacob said pre-orders will be very soon in the thread about Talking Girls 2.

Please sell hentai in the Philippines! I'm tired of buying AG comics (tankobons w/ like around 3-5 stories) published from Canada. I'd pay good shit for quality fap material!

Finally!!! Now we're big enough to go corporate!!! Hazaaaa!!! One question on the shop though, will the package be delivered in an inconspicuous box, or it'll all out say "This is Hentai!!!*Spartan kick*"?

All the packages will have massive uncensored dicks on them, to honor the original artists.

...

No don't' worry, everything is very inconspicuous, plain white packages.

Damn you, Jacob! You made me laugh uncontrollably and because I was lying sideways in my bed, I drooled all over the place xDD
