My answer is simply on the location if you're at a place where people are meant to socialize like a party or a night club you have to realize that not everyone there is "a nice guy" and its usually those people who ruin it for guys like your friend. My answer is try looking somewhere new, like a library or a cafe shop. Some place where woman feel like they can chat and not have to worry about you trying to take them home later that night

I could never imagine being so rude to just go up and talk to a random woman lol
or maybe I couldn't imagine why she'd not wanna talk to me. As a socially awkward person, I have thankfully realized that fact about myself, and feel ultimately I should like, not try and hit on girls.
It's sad and nobody enjoys it.
