watched dragon ball when i was young, didn't think much of it started really watching anime when the last ep of Kenichi were arring

It was '95 or '96 when Dragon Ball Z was aired in Australia, so I guess that would have been my first anime :-) I must have been four or five, but I remember that Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon and the original Digimon being aired all at the same time while I was in Kindergarten.

Pokemon was my first and long time favorite anime, started watching it @five and loved it all the way through today though I don't watch it anymore :/... But it's all good now I have animes like Fate/Zero and Naruto Shippuden!

I was around 13. My cousin rented Princess Mononoke from the video store. That's the anime that opened the floodgates.

Well well well...
The first anime that I recognize like one was Ghost In The Shell, the movie.
I was kind of a slap in my face, it really kicks my brain out.
And then, i realize that I was raised by anime like Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya and Astro Boy. ^^

First anime i watched were cardcaptor sakura and digimon when i was around six, god those were good years. I didn't fully get into anime until i was around twelve though, then i started watching fruits basket and naruto.

After school, my sister used to commandeer the television right in the middle of whatever show I was watching so that she could catch Sailor Moon. I was too lazy to go find something else to do, so I guess that was my first introduction. Not long afterward, I started to watch Pokémon every morning before school since the craze was in full swing.
But, like Nikon already predicted, I didn't really know what 'anime' was or anything like that until Toonami rolled around; I was already watching Moltar host the program long before Tom came around, for no other real reason than I liked old cartoons and I was a big fan of Space Ghost. It was the promos that really made it stick, though, I have to say.
A boy has the right to dream.
Space is the place.
This new breed of technology makes humanity obsolete.
They were the first signs from that contoured shuttle amongst the stars and its nuclear helmsmen that there was something more to what I was watching than the missiles and lasers and a quaint cottage full of alien chicks. Something deeper. I bought two Gundam Wing VHS tapes and that was the start.
Something must have gone horribly wrong at some point, though, because with only a couple exceptions all I watch lately are lighthearted comedies centered around high school girls.

I don't Remember what age exactly but I know it was in middle school and it was Yu-Gi-Oh but back then we still called them "Cartoons"

I believe it was around 8-10 when i first watched an anime(it was Dragon Ball...i think..), and ever since that moment, anime have been a major part of my life. Now, after more than a decade of journey, I'm proud to see that anime had become so big of a phenomenon, love by millions all over the world. Thank you Japan, thank you Anime for bringing us such love and joy.

First one i remember watching was Gundam Wing... cant remember when that was.. probably around the time toonami was going on. Also have a vague memory of having watched sailor moon :O... However I started seriously watching anime only recently.. like last year. Since then I have watched a whole load of them.
