I can't remember my exact age, but I will Guess about 6 when I first saw Slum Dunk , which till date is one of my favorite, I also remember watching a couple episodes of Sailor Moon (which by the way even back then at a very young age found them really HOT, especially while they were transforming/putting on their uniforms). Right after that I saw Ranma, followed by Yu Yu Hakushu (sorry if I spelled it wrong), and finally I have a faint memory of the Anime with a dude in a red jacket with a gun. He had a twin brother, I think the name was Hellsing or somethin like that, if anyone does remember plz tell me the name, the dude was blonde, and wore weird sunglasses, sort of the ones John Lenon wore aswell.

artcellrox The Grey Knight :y
Somewhere between 6 to 10, that's all I can confidently say. I believe everything I love about anime can be traced back to Rurouni Kenshin. Holy shit, that series had everything, and it was amazing. <3

Yeah, I'm yet another person who was introduced to anime via Toonami/Pokemon. I was probably six at the time.

The first anime I watched is the first Digimon series, so I was six at the time.

I watched Sailor Moon every morning as a child, America could change what they wanted I still thought Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune were together, and a better couple than Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask

I think mine was Samurai Pizza Cats early in the morning on a Fox channel. Then later on, my friends and family introduced me to anime later on. But later on, usually go to the rental video store called Hollywood Video retail chain as saw all the anime there. This was when I was in 3rd grade. Then later on Toonami broadcast and pokemon pretty much took me in.

It was such a great time to be a kid back in the late 90's. Funny how there were so much advertising on kid products and such back in the day.

Astroboy fucking blew my mind at about age 6. Prior to that I was trying not to slit my wrists watching The Undersea Adventures of Captain Nemo and Thunderbirds. The Mighty Hercules was pretty epic when they started showing that. But when Astroboy appeared that rocked my socks, and was something that was clearly very different even if I didn't know what anime was at the time - it had the resonance of something very different and had a quality and style that distingushed it, obviously.

Later when we moved out of the sticks, (away from our 2 channel rabbit earred existence) and had cable - I was getting up at 4 or 5 am to watch Galaxy Rangers and Robotech and anything else that was quality animation with a narrative.

I say 11-15 sure some tv shows I watched as a child even before the age of 5 would be considered anime however I only stared to get to know it as its own concept and started addressing it as anime from the age of 14 so that is what I put in.

Pokemon on TV when I was 12 =P

But the first show that I first recognized as anime and watched it because I was watching anime and not just cartoons was Martian Successor Nadesico, followed shortly by NGE. Oh god. My 13 year old brain.
