Bassist, come here

I've been playing bass since high school, and now I want some tips of how you play bass and what influence do you feel most when you play bass.

I'm interested to play funk/jazz bass that had pentatonic touch in it, it was rather simple but catchy melody, but I have to improve my skills since I stopped playing recently, obviously my band brokes..

and now I want to form a new band, I want some suggestion from you that would inspire me more, please post a video if you have to, I'll eagerly watch.

Just going to point out a couple of styles used in bass

I suggest a Pop/slap style of playing is the best for getting that funky sound

If you're playing in a band I suggest playing bass like rhythm guitar, you're gonna bring the beat if you wanna play funk

Or you could play it lead bass if your band's genre is rock


Learning to play the scales can help you out when trying to create a riff, just remember if you're unsure just play it high and low.
Obviously I left out root bass, but I am definitely sure you know that already.

maybe I'll play on rhytm guitar too, I wanna make a band that had funk/electro touch in it, combining something like Daft punk, Silversun pickups and RATM.

and maybe some practice could add up, all I need now is another guitar player.
