Dancing my way to fitness....

0
Well, lately, I've been getting bored with my normal workout routine of hip hop dancing and running, and I would like to go into something different now and actually take a dance class for once. I've thought of some things I'd like to try, but I don't know which is actually better. I'm interested in trying zumba, ballroom dancing, belly dancing, and pole dancing (but my hubby's against that one and so I guess it isn't really an option now). Does anyone have any suggestions on which one to do? I'd love to hear from anyone who has done one or more of these. I'm not a really good dancer, so I'd also like something that may be easier for me to keep up with, too....

If you want a workout zumba and belly dancing will burn calories fast. But be careful they can be intense even for the most expereinced!
I used to like ballroom dancing quite a bit, but some people can get bored with it. If you want more exictement salsa and tango are really fun.
I only tried pole dancing once and it's really tough, I tried that move where your upside down and spread your legs... I learned right away your head is not a good cushion, lol.
I'd also recemond Tae Bo or a begining dance class (jazz, tap, etc.)

I vote bellydancing. Its actually the style of dancing I've been wanting to take but haven't done an actual class for. Its great for working out and helps out your abs. I don't take bellydancing, but because my regular style of dancing involves a lot of hip and tummy movements that are similar to it, it is actually my form of "working out" when I go to the club every week.
I can send you some Youtube video tutorials if you're interested.

Thank you so much for the info and suggestions. ^_^ Maybe I should start with a beginning class, and then slowly work my way up to something more difficult first then. Lols!

Belly dancing does look like a lot of fun! It would be so cool to actually learn to move like that. ^.^ I've also heard a lot of good things about it, too. And some videos would be great. ^_^ Thank you~!
