I've been using this MacBook Pro w/ Retina for half a year now (nonstop since I never power down) and it's been running pretty well. Only 5 crashes so far, but they were my all fault--forcing my MacBook to play games XD
Even as a long time Windows user (oh god, it's been over 20 years already), I have to hand it to Apple. Sure they take long with software updates and not as many things are Mac compatible, but once configured and/or running, it just works. It did take some getting used to the different operating system though.

I want a Macbook but the prices just skyrocketed and I have several CDs I would like to install, I haven't heard good things about the separate disc thing either.
As of now, Apple products are a bit too expensive. Still, thanks for this information and replies!
Yeah, one thing I would definitely say is the MacBook disk reader sucks balls. It stopped being able to write less than a year after I purchased it, and many people are having this problem; it's unreliable with reading as well. However you can buy a tough external reader/writter and link it with USB at very decent speed.
The new MacBook doesn't have an ethernet port by default, you have to pay extra, which I think is so idiotic that I wouldn't consider buying it right now.
That is very stupid, I don't get it how people can even buy crap like that.
Considering there are Wi-Fi hotspots everywhere (including the one from my phone), I tend not to use an ethernet cable to connect. Not to mention both my phone and MacBook Pro use wireless AC which is considerably faster than most people's land connection.
And what did you mean by the prices of MacBooks skyrocketing? They went down considerably since I purchased mine--almost to the point where I regret buying so soon. The current lower tier models are up to par with the mid-range builds from only 6 months earlier as they all received upgrades and price cuts in July.
