I was always a fan of Ancient Egypt (Kemet) and their mdw'ntr but I'm also a fan of all the architecture, art, and mythology from Ancient Greece - beautiful buildings, even today we're basing architecture from them. It would have been amazing to have discussions with the most famous of ancient philosophers.

For entertainment purposes my favorite is the Middle Ages but it's a lot more fun with fantasy and magic and dragons thrown in and girls that actually shaved and didn't have rotting teeth and people that didn't smell strongly of body odor...

The Age of Piracy is also particularly entertaining to watch but again, definitely wouldn't have wanted to have been around back then.

But would have I have wanted to live in any of those times? Definitely not.

If I had to choose one to live in I'd say something yet unwritten far into the future where our workforce are machines, people are free to pursue the arts and hobbies, the vast majority of our problems have been solved, aging has been cured and we effectively have eternal youth (but not immortality), and are much more liberal with much more advanced technology and far less sway from the archaic ideals still looming over us today holding us down.

So yeah, that.

Funny thing you mention Ancient Egypt, early this morning
I randomly got the hot for cleopatra and decided to check her bio. Gotta say at first I thought she was madonna ansestor but she wasn't all I imagine her to be. [/h] but ANYWAY, I think I'll study up more about ancient Egypt.

Now for greek I found everything to be fantastic. From the poems, Lit, dramas and tragedies to the arts, miltary, and politics. I found them ALL interesting so yes, just talking to one of these brillent philosophers and their true point of views would be godly. Only thing is I don't want to stick around those death devices...

True but it's too bad we won't be seeing these things occur. I just hope every criminal and corruption is greatly reduced and we can venture out more into space.

Cleopatra's Egypt was actually far removed from a true Ancient Egypt. By then they'd been conquered and reclaimed then reconquered a few times over. It destroyed much of their society and culture and vastly warped it as well.

The last of the true pharaohs was Rameses III during the time of the Trojan Wars. His death ushered in the breaking down of their society and Egypt with no iron ore was unable to keep up with the Iron Age (this was around 1200BC). The biggest problems though were within the society itself and was a result of the rebellion plot from one of his wives. Upper & Lower Egypt split after that then in 728 BC the Nubians conquered Egypt. 671 BC the Assyrians, then 525 BC the Persians, then 325 BC Alexander the Great. To put this in perspective... Cleopatra died at around 30 BC. By the time she became pharaoh everything had all gone to shit.

Oh and the Arabs, Turks, and French went on to conquer Egypt in the centuries thereafter.

Game of Thrones has dragons and magic. But nah, neither of those properly depict it either. There's also some great fantasy books about dragons and magic, but I digress.

The Archaic period (I particularly love Ancient Greece and it's mythologies) followed by the Dark Ages, the Middle Ages for Europeian history, and the Civil War era for US history.

I like the Shang Dynasty and the Meiji Restoration period. The reign of Peter the Great in Russia was also very nice. The Byzantine empire is one of my top favorites as well. I'm not really picky

Medieval period(roughly from 1050 AD to 1490 AD). The Spanish inquisition, The holy crusades, lycanthropy, and not to mention the Bubonic plague(black death). Literaly the lowest point in the history of Western civilization; and yet it is still so mothafuckin sweet!

Its hard to pick a specific period but the Cenozoic is probably the best.

I don't have one time I like more than others. So many time periods so hard to just choose one for me.

To live in, I'd say Ancient Greece. Yeah, I know that's not really an historical period but I'm not that good at History, although I quite like it. Anyway, Ancient Greece would be an amazing place to live in, if you were a citizen that is. You could be well dressed, study philosophy outdoors in a mediterranean climate, meet Socrates perhaps, read tons of great works in their original language, talk about the gods in great eloquent speeches and, most of all, when I think about Ancient Greece I always think of the women there as Circes, Calypsos and Nausicaas by which I mean stunningly gorgeous women.

Another historical period I quite like is the Russian Revolution. Not a very nice time but people were vigorous with their ideologies. Besides, I'd quite like to meet Lenine and Trotsky.
