Help with transparent GIF

0
Hi, I'd like help with this gif I'm making, the one in my signature.
Now the one in my signature has a white background and on most sites I use I just want it to be transparent but whenever I do that I get a distorted-ish "inner stroke"

Example:

With background;

Without background;

Does anyone know why?

Edit: Welp, it turns out fine here on fakku since the fakku backgrund IS white but yeah, if anyone can help me get rid of the "inner stroke" I'd be happy.

How it looks on other sites;

This is how it looks without a background, with a background it's fine but I don't want a background.

Inner stroke? You mean that white lines surrounding the text? (the one with the black bg)
If that's the case, your text is aliased meaning the edges are softened. In your image editing software, those edges are not 100% solid, they have a low opacity. GIF formats doesn't handle opacity (unlike PNG).

If you did this in Photoshop, there's an option for texts in the text toolbar/sub-menu like strong, smooth, etc. Choose none. Rasterize the text layer and do your frames again.

Saw your comment and gave it a shot, no success.

OK, do this.

1. Create a new layer and type in your text (DUBSTEP in this case), set the anti-aliasing style to "none".
2. Rasterize the text layer. Right-click on the layer and click Rasterize Layer.
3. Create a new layer above the Rasterized Text layer.
4. Paste your (galaxy) image on that new layer.
5. At this point, the active layer should be the Image layer. Ctrl + Left Click on the Text Layer. Then Ctrl + Shift + i and hit delete key. The image should take the shape of your font.
6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 - this will be the different images for your frames.

After you've created enough images, you can now compile it to make your GIF animation.
If the GIF still produces the white lines around them, it means you didn't set the anti-aliasing style to "none" or you've resized the frames/images before making them into GIF.

Question is is this your gif like in did you make it or did someone make it?

If the latter.. you can't edit gif's unless you recreate it. And that depends on the structure of the gif.

Ctrl + Shift + i does nothing for me.
