Petition againt Article 175 of the Penal Code aka Censoring!

2
Hey guys,

I recently found a Japanese petition at change.org against the outdated Article 175 of the Penal Code.
It's the one that's responsible for all the ridiculous censoring of Hentai and Porn in Japan.

The guy from the petition even has a booth at the upcoming Comiket next weekend to promote it even more.

It would be nice, if the fakku community could help to spread and of course sign this one.

I don't know if posting at the fakku discord would help too.
I think no one would really see it because it would be soon scrolled up, right?
If anyone wants to do it anyway or has a good idea, just go ahead

This is his Twitter profile with the petition in it:

Thanks everyone for helping out :)

I'm American or I may have participated. The uncensored international hentai releases from Japan certainly seem like generosity. I'm under the impression that controversial content meant for wide-spread consumption (excluding hentai & porn), such as some anime, gets censored by their American/International publishers. Japanese AVs that I've purchased over here have genital censoring, so I'm honestly unsure when and by whom the censoring is removed.

It is kind of insane that there is still any sort of required censorship in adult content... like, its 2022 people...

I think some of it goes to the societal and political issues from low population growth. Some attribute/blame the low marriage and childbirth numbers on people who reads this kind of entertainment. It is simplistic and narrow focus for a large and complex issue, but politics usually dumbs down problems and finds someone to blame. Smut is an easy target in that regard.
