PSP Help D=

Okay, the gist of it is that my PSP 1000 which I've had for about... 10 years +/- recently started malfunctioning with the joystick. I bought a replacement from eBay and it worked properly again. I then left my PSP alone for about a month or so to play Golden Sun: Dark Dawn on my DS. When I tried to re-use the joystick on my PSP after the month's absence, it wasn't working again.

Based on my track record with buying PSP stuff from eBay I'm assuming that the product was somehow faulty. However, if there is any chance that this could be a problem with my PSP, please let me know how to find out/figure out if my PSP does have a problem. FYI the D-Pad works fine and so does the CD loader, it's just the joystick that has issues.

Any and all help is welcome, thanks in advance! =)

By left alone you mean left in a securely safe place that's not prone to accidental damage. Recall where you PSP has likely been for that past month. My guess is that your neglect cause it to go into massive depression leading to self mutilation in hopes of regaining your attention.

By left alone I mean it was in my drawer and never moved from there. Nor did I bump my drawer in any way, shape or form. I honestly have no idea why the damn joystick isn't working @_____@ My only guess is fail eBay PSP stuffs =I

I suppose it's time to retire that PSP and get a PSP-3 or one of the newer incarnations.

I mean a PSP-3 Slim. Not a PS3.

You can get free games through homebrew on the PSP-3

Back to the original question my PSP-1001 had the joystick problem too and i went through 3 joysticks until i bought a 2001. I have had no problems with my 2001 model. So i think there was a design flaw with the joystick on the 1001

and the PSP 3001 is homebrew proof

Well, my brother got one for me in 2009 for about less than 1000 RMB, so I'd say it costs less than $150. It can run UMDs for what I know. I suggest you get a 8gb or 16gb Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo. Pirated games go on the memory card.

That's a decent price, I should be able to get it for my birthday then. And do you mean that I should have two separate memory cards?

A PSP 3000 should be around $129.99 now. And no, he didn't say you should have two separate memory cards. He recommends you to get either a 8GB or 16GB memory card since if you want to hack your PSP, you can put your pirated/bought ISO in there so you can play. The more space the more games, right? You can get both if you want.

3000-5 was 99.00$ in best buy or game stop. Back the cards. I have 5 4gbs cards for:
american
vn types
video
mobile hack
ect

Which the cards were like 19$ a piece but been raised in price. My vita cards are twice that.. but necessary for two of the games i have and the psnjp buy backs. Which they're going to stop building psp's in jp soon and probely in the euro/na zones soon as well, making psp more expensive to get.

Having a bigger memory card is better because you can get more out of it than separate cards leading to the same memory.

So PSP 3000 are hackable after all? I heard that they weren't =O And I would do that but I'm not comfortable carrying multiple memory cards around with me ^^" I think just one will do.

It's because no one wants them anymore with the vita rolling in soon. And when it does... psp will be more expensive.
