Teleportation, is it the best super-power?

So a friend and I were having a discussion about supernatural abilities, and I brought up the power of teleportation. We thought about it, and we realized that teleportation is, hands down, the BEST super power you could have.

I really think it would be. What do you think?

You have never flown before. The feeling is exhilarating then the wind blows through your hair. AND THE VIEW! Don't get me started on the view!

It's nice to say the least but then if you somehow teleport into a wall then it's not that great.

If I had to argue about a superpower better than it, I'd maybe throw in the ability to stop time and such. Worst case scenario is that you freeze time forever and even then you can still do whatever you want.

Well about the flying thing, with Teleportation you can just "fall in style". Like start running and Teleport up in the sky.

Kind of hard actually, it depends on how good the teleportation is. I think Nightcrawler from X-Men has it pretty bad. He can teleport, but whatever speed he had before it will still be the same after the teleport.

If you can control the teleport speed then sure, all for it.

I would like to say that controlling Matter has a huge advantage, especially with creating and destroying it along with manipulation. It isn't overpowered, but up there in dangerous levels.

id have to say stoping time, or being able to slow it down to the point were noone can see you n such. think of all the shit you could do, with the obvious one labled womens locker rooms n such, think of just walking into a bank vault and noone knowing what the hell happend =D

Would save me a lot of money. Plus I'd be able to travel anywhere, which would be awesome.

One of the few problems I have with time stopping, do you age in the time stop? Wouldn't want to be a day or a year old if I abuse it for example. You are right though, it is a hell of a fun and amazing power.

Yup, Time powers is stronger. You can technically teleport with this too. Like Hiro from Heroes.

And they always somehow had to give them some kind of handicap for time powers because it's just too strong.

but if you could somehow have a pure, unnerfed time power with no restrictions? no aging while in time stop acceleration ext ext, it be fucking awesome.

Mind control on a grand scale, say the size of new york city or larger.

Time control is the superior power, and unless you are caught off guard and permanently iced, it grants you almost complete control of the universe around you. About the only thing time powers lack are brute strength.

Mind control is a horrible power. Humans lose all their appeal when they lose their independent thought and personality.

hmm teleportation power will be obsolete when they facing a guy that can somehow freeze the time continuum. no even if they have to face a person that slowing time. your teleportation power will be useless. I mean how can U beat person when he suddenly dissapear and appear again behind your back.

Well I guess it all depends on how far down the path you take your power. You'd have to only compare powers when they are at the same base level and have some rules and guidelines to judge by.

For me, at its most extreme, beyond any reasonable limits; I think Psychokinesis might be the most powerful. I'm not talking moving your X-Wing with you mind level though. That's beginner level. We're talking God-tier manipulating anything in existence level.

Psychokinesis has ended up as more of an umbrella term though and its subcategories are more used as super powers these days. Telekinesis is one that you're all probably familiar with; this is just one form of psychokinesis, but it is limited to just physical objects. Everyone's favorite elektromeister Misaka Mikoto is also a user of one form of psychokinesis. In fact, I believe everything that has been listed so far is attributed to some mastery in a single area of psychokinesis.

What it gets down to is how overpowered you'll let someone get in this fantasy debate, because someone who has any sort of mastery in psychokinesis itself, and not just specializing in a certain area, would be practically unstoppable.

when you say size, do you mean geographic area, or population?

my personal choice would be invulnerability/imortality.
