I'd put this is Serious Discussion, but I don't take PETA all that seriously, especially right now. This is what I'm talking about. (HuffPost) Yeah, it's pretty much the stupidest thing they've ever done.

Point one: it's the name of a town. Changing it will do virtually nothing for the cause of ending unethical treatment of animals.

Point two: It's called Turkey. Not deep-fried, cruelly desecrated and mangled bird. The name does not denote food, just an animal.

That's just going too far. Seriously. What next, make it illegal to crack Turkey and Hungary jokes?

That's stupid. Haven't they noticed there are a lot of strange names for towns?
And if they gotta get mad at Texas on the topic of turkeys, I'd think they'd go after Ceuro, for their Turkey Fest every year.

Hm, using their logic, Muslims should be renamed Musleems because some of them are terroristic bastards?I think not.

Several years ago I would have said that PETA's sinking to new lows, but by now, I think this is basically all that anyone expects from them.

Because each year, they seem to regress a little more.
Their actions make less and less sense,

PETA is managed by a bunch of fools and morans. Rather than focus their spendings on helping and saving actual animals that are being abused, they blow their budget on stupid shit like this.

If everyone would stop paying any attention to them, they'd go away eventually. We could only be so lucky, right?

Let their shoes be filled by people who actually care about some animals, rather then people who have to do some gimmick for attention.
