I'm from a family where there are many rituals. Of the many that we follow, one is that you must name your child(ren) with the first letter being the same as the non-bloodline related parent. Since my mother, Alice, married into the family, I must use the letter A.
Anyway, long story short, I've always been fond of the names Aria or Aphelia for a girl and Adrian or Ashton for a boy. What would you like to name your child?

i'd call my kid Grrrbllbblloopbrllbrl.
Can't wait for teachers at school to call and say,

Who knows? As a kid myself I rather liked Jaanus and Jaanika for possible future children, though.

OT: I actually have a list of names that I like so I'd probably use one of those. Lucas is one that I really like for some reason. Girl's names are harder for me to come up with so I don't have many or one really picked out at the moment.

We have a similar tradition.
To name the first child after a deceased relative to honor them and continue the name.
My oldest son has the same first letters in his name as my paternal grandfather.
I was named after two cousins in Russia that never got along for some reason. Probably the reason I changed it.

If it's a boy, Frederik. The story behind it is a pretty long one.
If it's a girl, Svenja. Sadly I seem to be the only person on the planet who thinks it's a beautiful name and not a name that sounds like a Polish hooker :(

Curious and Wondering
I always look to the dictionary or lexicons for a name - I don't want common names for my kid. There are too many Johns and Thomases and Josephs. But fancy-sounding names can curse children as well, so it's a tricky line to tread.
Last time I had an idea for that, I wanted my firstborn son's name to be either one of these: "Elah" (an Aramaic word for "awesome"), "Alessandro", or "Roman".
For a daughter, my girlfriend currently fancies "Anastasia Romanovna" (she's into World History right now in grad school)... but things can change, she's whimsical. I actually wanted "Natasha".
I asked my parents about this one, how they decided on my name, and my mom had a laugh remembering how she and dad argued over it for an hour before writing my name on my hospital documents.
Probably the cycle will repeat itself in my case, but I hope not.
