I lived in a very small rural village that has only 3000 inhabitants. Now I live in Turku, because I study at the University of Turku.

What kind of economy do small villages that far north have? I'd imagine farming is very difficult for much of the year.

Northern Finland is formed by three regions; Lapland, Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu. I'm from Northern Ostrobothnia which isn't that north. And actually there's a lot of farming, surprisingly. I could talk quite a lot about economy in Finland but this isn't the right place for that now is it?

And I'm not Sami. I'm half-Finnish and half-Ukrainian, but that's a another story.
