Why Do Some Girls Like Yaoi

Some girls like yaoi for the same reason some guys like yuri.

Basically this. I can't really explain why I like yaoi or yuri. Calling it a fetish (on my part) isn't really a good word, but I guess that's as close to an explanation as you can get (for me).

I just love the story lines in yaoi/yuri.
I find it very romantic~

Because it's funny to watch two hot guys fucking... it usually more softcore then yuri.. most of the time.

a more interesting thread would have been why do some "straight" guys like traps or yaoi? i still cant rap my head around that one.

As a fan of doujinshi and fanfiction I've seen a lot of good writers and artists (especially writers) fall victims to a typical het romance stereotype, where characters' genders overrule their personalities, and they become just another case of Edward and Bella. I find this somewhat boring.

Aside from the obvious reason (girls have a tendency to like hot guys, and more the better) plotwise same sex romance might have a bit more leeway than het. Of course not all het stories are like that, and yaoi has similar issues with the uke & seme thing.

I dont really like full on yaoi. I prefer BL.
E.g. light hearted yaoi.

Yuri = sexy
Yaoi (more BL than full on yaoi) = excessively cute

[size=12]i'm with twillusion on this one, i prefer shonen-ai/BL. i enjoy the purely romantic aspect of two characters' relationship and their bond and their story, i really don't want to see them have sex or anything. i'm the same way with het and shoujo-ai, though.

i know that sex is a big part of the relationship itself, it's just not in my interests to see/read them go through it. if it's just implied/stated/talked about, that's fine for me. this goes for couples of all genders and sexuality. ecchi is alright, i suppose, but i mainly enjoy all things rather vanilla and fluffy, like kissing and hand-holding and maybe even some groping. >//u//<[/h]

Idk what it is, I can't explain it, lol. I like yuri too, but yuri is different, it's that feminine sexuality that makes it alluring. So I guess for yaoi, it's just that masculine allure mixed in with all the naughty.

Yaoi = Dangerously Sexy

I don't really care for yaoi, and I'm a girl... but I also think that despite the fact that I like shoujo-ai/yuri... most of it sucks, because it's written by guys. Guys usually care about getting to the "hot lesbian sex", and not developing the romance which is something that yaoi writers do VERY well. Plus, what's better then getting a release without having to compare the girl to yourself? Especially when you're an awkward, insecure young woman who doesn't know her way around her own body that well yet.

I'm a girl, and I never really liked yaoi.
But yeah, the yaoi that I've seen that I've liked either has a good storyline/chemistry, or with Fan pairings of yaoi the guys are fucking bros and I just like seeing a pretty picture with both of the characters I love in it (and then I accidentally start liking seeing them together but I wouldn't like them romantically for reals I just like the pictures of them together D:)
