Yaoi in FAKKU

Well since there is yaoi in the user uploads in many ways it sort of is on Fakku already. If I was to tell a friend where to go for a yaoi I found in the user uploads, I would probably have to mention it is on Fakku. So it sort of is already here then.

so then what more do you need, front page support from admins? Just wondering, not trying to sound hostile.

Um... nothing?... what were we talking about again? What were you trying to stop or againist? Front page exposure?

pretty much any change or greater addition of yaoi to fakku, but the topic isn't mine. The question should be what did Tsurayu want out of this.

I just think that there should be just as much presence of yaoi as there is for the other genres on Fakku. It doesn't necessarily need to be flashed about on the front page, but I think there should be yaoi everywhere else on the site, Nosebleed, uploads, doujins on Fakku, etc...

doujins on fakku was what I was against.

The amount of Yaoi on the site ideally would correlate with the demand for it. It wouldn't make sense to place it on the same level or presence as straight sex no more than it makes sense to make other fetishes the same level or presence as straight sex or yuri since both of those are popular.

My only argument was yaoi isn't the same as scat or guro - those topics and fetishes are taboo. Homosexuality isn't taboo, it may be against some peoples mores (not MOAR, mores as in strong morals - look it up) but it isn't a taboo subject that is abrubtly offensive.

homosexuality is taboo, I don't know where you're from but it's a very hot topic in North America. The offensiveness of the topic is not for you but the majority to judge.

p.s. I am in no way against homosexuality, I am simply being a realist,

No see homosexuality is against mores - gouging out someone's eye and humping it is a taboo. You underestimate the severity of what a taboo is. I'm from Louisiana, one of the most conservative states in the US. However, while there are many who find Homosexuality offensive it only goes against their mores, not a taboo since they are not afraid to speak of it - such as speaking about raping a dead baby. Raping a dead baby is taboo, it is so horrible you do not speak of it or think of it. Homosexuality and yaoi are not on that level - but guro and scat are.

sorry, but until the day that gay marriage is legal in all 50 states and people aren't discharged from the military for being gay, you can't tell me it isn't taboo.

*sigh... you still don't understand what taboo is then. If it was taboo it wouldn't even be legal in a single state let alone in Canada, Belguim, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Holland, the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, Maine, and New Hampsire as well as being recognized in the state of New York and California if preformed else where.

Homosexuality has challenges and discrimination - it isn't taboo though. Marrying your own child is though and so is doing your sister (those aren't legal anwhere) but we have incest doujin.

Taboo can apply to something that is socially unacceptable, embarrassing or rude. It doesn't have to be banned to be taboo.

Homosexuality is most certainly still taboo in the world.

Thanks Tsurayu, you understood my point quite clearly.

Look, I'm not saying we should not place taboo on this website; we have some and it's clear (rape, incest, nymphomaniac authority figures), my point is that the majority of people on this site and in North America still have a negative opinion on yaoi, guro, scat, etc. The reasons I previously mentioned and the fact that the staff is not interested in these topics will most likely ensure they will never receive any face time on fakku; at least not on the main page.

If and when Jake does say something on the matter we can end this debate. I foresee no change though, I wish you both luck in this matter and any future endeavors.

I don't imagine it will either, but I'll keep this active and in the minds of as many people as I can. It is about the only thing I can do.

Haven't checked this thread for coupla months and it degenerated into a political struggle about morals. I created this thread as more of a tongue-in-cheek, hence this being in random instead of SD, to see the opinion of forum members and even get a few laughs and joke while we're at it and im surprised at the full blown discussion and argument about yaoi.

it's a controversial topic... you didn't foresee some type of debate?

Frankly no,i don't really see it as controversial since its not such a big matter in real life like abortions, homosexuality or religious ideals and as i said i meant it as a little joke.

as far as fakku goes, it's controversial. People take this website/forum seriously; at least I do.

This thread makes me want to upload a bunch of yaoi. But I'm too lazy for that shit.

Let's try to make this simple:

Should yaoi be allowed on Fakku at all?
- Totally, because that's what User Uploads is for - uploading what you want to share with the community.
Should yaoi doujins be uploaded onto Fakku itself (the actual site, not User Uploads)?
- Probably not because not every doujin is uploaded to the Fakku site. There are some chapters of Hatsu Inu missing, for example, and I'd rather the time be spent to upload those than uploading Naruto and Sasuke banging each other.
Anything else worth mentioning?
- If yaoi was uploaded to the main site right now, there would probably be big problems because there is no tag system. If a tag system were in place, people could search specifically for yaoi or for doujins that did not contain yaoi. Without a tag system, a person could download something and be blindsided, which would probably cause a bit of bitching.

About the nature of this nature, I think exterminatus was expecting jokes and whatnot, not the discussion that resulted. That's usually what people want from Random. You know, one person says, "Ugh, no. Two guys is gross," another agrees, people start making jokes about which forum member would most likely be in a yaoi doujin, and so on.

I should totally start uploading a crap ton of yaoi material as well. XD

i don't really like it.
I don't really want to look at it.
That's it.

You should probably label as Loli or Wincest, that'll surprise a good majority.
