Your Worst Nightmare? And How Do You Interpret It?

I usually hate when nightmares happen where I lose someone I love to someone else I hate. Might be an insecurity issue, but it's probably one of my biggest fears as well. Or I just hate the other person that much :P

I have recurring nightmare where I'm running away from some kind of monster thing(looks a bit like those things in Dead Space) but no matter how fast I try to run, I keep going slow. And then when the monster finally gets me I wake up. I have no idea how I'm supposed to interpret that

1/Getting stuck in zombie apocalypse <--- Woke up while got maim
2/Stuck in the movie "Alien" world <---- Woke up once while halfway ripping one of them apart
3/Got married and has the most boring life ever <--- I woke up in cold sweat xD

I don't think there any deep interpretation for that. Just maybe cut back on horror genre I guess

I haven't had proper nightmares for ages, and thus I can't remember many of them. I do get fever dreams a lot though, and during my last two sicknesses shit got really intense. Usually I just wake up from these dreams with a sweat-soaked bed, but after these last two extra violent dreams I litterally woke up screaming like a madman. Not a sudden scream of shock, but a really long, loud, and prolonged scream of horror. It lasted for minutes and I can still clearly remember the fear I felt. I wasn't afraid of something specific, it was just a pure, intense feeling of fear and horror. When my throat finally tired from screaming I just started crying and whimpering, searching for something to hold on to while rocking back and forth, mumbling nonsense to myself.

I seriously wonder if I didn't go mad for real for a moment there because there was nothing rational about anything I did or felt, and it lasted for waaay too long. What's interesting about this is that in my normal fever dreams there is usually some kind of pulsating force/presence which grows stronger and stronger, louder and louder, until it's completely overwhelming. When it's at it's stongest I always expect some kind of "impact" or "explosion", but I always wake up before that happens, or the dream starts over before the impact occurs. But in these two extra violent ones the impact actually DID occur. At the impact it was as if my mind just snapped. I woke up in an instant, and the rest is history. Really freaky stuff.

Kinda unrelated but the first of these two were the worst one because I was all alone. At the second one my mom was home and when she heard my scream she rushed to me and calmed me down. She was scared as hell, she thought I was dying or something - that's how loud I screamed.

Go ahead and try to interpret all that if you want to, because I still don't understand anything. It would also be nice if you could tell me if you've had similar experiences, because I honestly have no idea how common this is.

sometimes i get reoccurring bad dreams of being unable to see, somehow my vision is blurred or eyes are forced shut, and it's always in a dangerous situation like driving, when I'm driving in dreams.

When I was hospitalized two weeks ago, I had a lucid dream that I was God. At first it was kind of cool, but I wasn't able to handle the pressure for very long. People kept calling me to fix their problems, I couldn't keep up with all the worshiping. Then people would practically curse me for not paying any attention to them. The dream felt so real that I ended up sleep walking out of my room naked. For a couple days, I couldn't tell when I was dreaming and when I wasn't. Eventually I realized that only God can be God. So for the first time in a long time, I prayed to God. I made a promise to him that I was just going to be myself regardless as to what people think of me. I'm not sure whether it was a miracle or what, but my social phobia seems to be cured due to going through that surreal experience. In addition to that:

-I realized that I was lonely (and suicidal).
-I learned to love myself more.
-I understood that I need to start thinking for myself rather than trying to live up to other ppl's expectations.
-I'm addicted to naked yoga now.
-I'm no longer ashamed of the skeletons in my closet.
-Like Adam and Eve, I made the ultimate sacrifice: I gave up my ignorance and bid farewell to my childhood. I had a good life, so I have no right to judge other people.
-From now on, I'm going to live as a free spirit. The pact I made with God gave me the opportunity to start off with a clean slate.

Right now there are only two dreams i vividly remember:

1. In my dream i was in a town with many dead or dying people , the town somewhat made me remember the old place where i used to live(which is now sunk underground because of the mt. pinatubo eruption(in philippines and yes its was actually a volcano ,look it up on youtube), and the thing is in that particular dream everything is black and white.

2. I only remember the fact that at some point in a certain dream of mine that i regained consciousness briefly in the dream , i knew i was in a dream but sometime later that i drifted off forgeting i was in a dream and that is all i remember.

I've had this dream 2-3 times.. But with different variations.

Generally though, they're the same.

Dream/Variation 1:I suddenly am in an elevator with no lights--But for some reason I can see a knife. It wasn't as if it was glowing..I could just see it. The knife was jammed in the wall behind me, and I noticed that it had some type of helmet/hat/mask with it. I left that there; I couldn't see it clearly enough to know what it was but I took the knife. After leaving the elevator, I walk into a dark hall in what seems to be a school. Empty though, but with a single bicycle in the middle of the hall. For whatever reason I was extremely afraid and somehow fell through the floor into an ocean--But I didn't really notice the falling, I just kind of noticed the floor break then BAM water. I woke up immediately after that.

Variation 2: I leave the elevator, notice the Bicycle in the dark hall, but this time Run towards it and kick it--Then collapse. thats when I wake up

Variation 3: I walk into the dark hall, and there is my friend--Leaning against the left hand wall. I ask him whats up, and he throws a pikachu plushie at me (I know its hard to believe, lol) and then kicks me into some body of water. For whatever reason I can Somehow swim (I cant in real life). And I swim to a remote island (its still dark bear in mind). My brother saves me, and then I punch him in the face---Waking up right when that happens.

What do? I still haven't figured this shit out.

A while ago, I actually called in to the local morning radio show to have my dream interpreted.

-I'm blindfolded and I can feel somebody pulling my toenails and fingernails off, then they take a hammer to my knees and gag my mouth. After that, they begin to bury me in what feels like sand, before they cover my head with something.

With somethings this messed up, you'd think that they wouldn't know what to say. Wrong. It's about change...

I thanked them, and thought to myself, yeah...friggin right.

The hell does that have anything to do with change? Man, dreams are weird...

Not so sure bout' you guys but I've had some seriously creepy nightmares...

Me nightmares usually happened years ago when me wuz' juz' a lil' kiddy... :)

Some of the nightmares I've had...

Nightmare 1: Title: (A creepy glide thru hell)

(There was this time where I had this dream where I traveled thru hell in a 'glide-like' manner all the while seeing prison cells filled with screeching ghastly women being tortured... Their screeches were too much to bear... Every thing around was like an inferno and it felt really creepy... Sorry... I can't remember much... Such a long time ago, plus I don't remember me other nightmares too... :) )

Nightmare 2: (Me and the times I spent frolicking with that girl from The Ring...)

(I can't stress enough that I've had tons of dreams featuring me being chased around by that ULTRA-CREEPY gurl from The Ring/The Grudge... Goddamn she's terrifying... Getting chased by her into broken down toilets to hearing her screeches to anything else or anything that involves this monstrosity is bound to make me go insane in my dreams...)

Nightmare 3: Vamps

(I've had my fair share of dreams involving vamps... Most common vamp nightmares involve me running away from vamps... Usually the setting is when I'm getting chased by vamps in crypts, castles, mansions... The most horrifying ones would be me getting chased by vamps in crypts...)

Nightmare 4: (The big hole in the desert)

(This is probably my most horrifying nightmare... One time, I was walking and running across the sands to find hidden treasure suddenly became hell when I dropped down this gigantic hole that stretched for kilometers down the earth... When I regained consciousness, I started to see this ginormous pillar with stairs going round it... I quickly climbed the stairs cuz' I kept hearing these really creepy sounds... Somehow, I saw this weird tunnel and a rope... Used the rope and landed in that tunnel... Weirdest tunnel... It was this ghastly tunnel that resembled a gigantic parking lot, complete with railway stations and blah, blah, blah... The size of the tunnel and the fact that no one was there really creeped my brains out... Just what tha fuck did I dream about anyway? Why in God's name do I have these seriously terrifying nightmares unlike most other kindsa nightmares... BUT, the scariest shit was that I actually wanted to continue dreaming this nightmare... What the hell happened that night, I have no idea)

Nightmare 5: (Sunken treasure)

(Then, another desert-esque nightmare came by and this time it was me trying to find treasure in an Egyptian-like crypt setting... And we walked and walked and walked till we all get (I dunno how to describe it) 'slid' down these weird series of tunnels that happened to branch out to all sortsa places... Not to mention the presses, the eerieness, the arrghhh... (Can't remember from then) Later on, I was the only one that got out and I came out from the entrance... Craziest shit was, there's a bunch of seriously creepy warriors chasin' me until I was finally killed...)

There were more but can't remember em'...

I guess you could say that these dreams I had all had some correspondence to my belief that I'm an unlovable and needless individual... For who would have these kindsa dreams when and they're an emotionally healthy young kid... I remember that I am an individual who's depressed since I was a kid...

Worst Nightmare:

My younger cousin (he's 4): Hey bro I wanna go to the toilet take me there please~

Me: Come on John its like 4 o' clock in the morning

Cousin: I'm scared its so dark and someone's laughing out there

Eerie laughter that does not sound male or female resounds in my empty house

Me: Alright I'll take you geez

As soon as I step into the living room to check who was laughing the laughter starts to come from my room

Me: (Holy shit I'd better get some sleep) Hurry up John

(At the toilet)

Cousin: Hey Bro can you turn around please? I feel embarassed "blushes"

Me: Whatever John..(Turns around)

At the same time, the mirror freezes over and footsteps start to come closer to the toilet door with that eerie laughter sounding out from all sides. The footsteps come to a stop outside the door. I look out through a small crack in the door.

Cousin: Bro what are you doing alone in the toilet?

I look back. A The-Grudge-girl esque ghost reaches out with that eerie laughter and black blood dripping from her hands and mouth.

Worst Nightmare ever man.. damn when I woke up I was almost screaming

My worst nightmare was me walking, in what I can only describe as being the the most blissful place imaginable, and having pieces of flesh keep falling off my body. before I woke, I was reduced to one, dangling eye and a few strips of meat hanging from my skeleton.

hmm.. i was 8 years when i dreamed this.

I was with my father in the kitchen talking while he cooked. Suddenly, i saw the death itself (ugh) taking my dad away. Everyone was cryng, untill he came back! Happly he said that he would live until he was 85, cuz death told him so. He died at 58, two years ago.

I don't remember any nightmares in your sense, but when I was little, there was a full week where I would get "Night terrors" every single day (note, never ever EVER give your kid Focalin). I still get them once a year or so.

THEY ARE SO FUCKING SCARY.

You're basically in a nightmare... But you're sleepwalking and conscious, only you still have "dream logic". The common theme among them was that my brain had disappeared (the usual one), or that whether I lived or died depended on something that would never happen, such as a video game becoming reality (I remember that one clearly.) I'd be screaming my head off, I'd be in absolute agony, and I would do crazy things like attack my parents or try to jump out the window. Afterwards, I would be extremely shaken, with memory of how I felt, but with little memory of the actual event. If I close my eyes and imagine it... God, it's horrible.

I can now recognize the feeling when I phase into it, and snap myself out of it... but not always. When I took melatonin as a sleep aid, I wasn't able to, for example.

I have similar episodes on a regular basis, just without the nightmare part. You know how when you wake up, you're still in dream logic mode? I can walk around like that for a good five minutes before I snap out of it.

What does it mean? I have no idea. That even waking up won't stop me from sleeping? Probably.

I need a hug!

I have lot's of dreams of waking of confused, but one i hate the most is when I'm walking towards some stairs and falling down them, only to wake up at the edge of my bed. My interpretation? Watch were you go because the simplest things can hurt you.
