It's not really the dying part for me, since I know it's inevitable. However, I somehow just cannot truly comprehend the cessation of existence thing, and that's what makes me feel queasy when I think about such matters. Might be because I rarely if ever really remember my dreams, so whenever I think about what sleeping means to me it feels like some kind of dark undetermined amount of time at the edge of awareness, and when I try to imagine that for all time to come, I just get this feeling of dread. Of course, I know that when the real deal comes, my brain will shut down for good and forever, so I know it's an irrational fear, but nonetheless, it scares me.

I've never been afraid of death...I live my life in a constant state of wanting to die yet wanting to live. Sounds confusing but it's not really, if a time ever came up where I could save someone by taking a bullet or a knife I'd do it without a second thought, but then again I would also cherish my life and fight back with everything I've got.

Also for some reason when I was five I figured out the year I was going to die and from then on lost all fear of death

I understand where people are coming from when they say they are afraid of death but I think it's more being afraid of the unknown. For all we know, when we get to heaven God (or whoever you choose to believe in) could be sitting in his throne surrounded by ladies wearing a powder orange tux and holding a doujinshi. When he notices you he throws you a copy and says "Where the hell (a pun) have you been?" I mean no disrespect to anyone out there but we have no idea right? That's really why I'm not afraid of death cause God could be a straight up daddy-O!

I will never die. I don't care if I have to murder people and use and sell there organs to raise the money, I will achieve Immortality. If it is by full body prosthetic, or nanomites, Cloning, or storing brain waves and memories to a machine or online. I will do what ever it take to live forever!

Yes. It's the most basic human instinct to try and stay alive. No matter if you think your not afraid or you think that their's a afterlife so their nothing to be afraid. Those who say that they don't fear it are just lying whether they know it or not death is something to be afraid. So to rap this up human=fear of death so if you are a person you fear death,

Yeah, i'm afraid of death. But its that fear that keeps me striving. Its a necessity for life.

My religion is Christianity so I an not to scared of death, but what I am scared of is how I will die (painfully or peacefully) and when I die will my name be remembered for doing anything great because I want my life (while I was alive) to have some type of meaning.

You need to be afraid of death to feel alive.

Not in the least. Death is part of life, what makes me scared is the fact about people stepping on other people's lives to make some sort of 'gain' in life. That scares me, people are vile creatures at time, and I blame money. (no not government or anything of that nature, money started it).

Like Walmart suing my dad for 'stealing' from them when all he did was return a 6 dollar gear shift knob because it broke. So we have been suffering for 4 months now of Walmart continuing the court date because they can't get their shift together. Our names have been printed on newspaper and everything. It's degrading... Over 6 bucks.

I am afraid to die by drowning, but only because I can't swim. At least I'm not too afraid to admit I'm afraid to die, unlike most people here from what I can see. Anyway, another way I am afraid to die is burning alive.

Burning alive would suck lol, but I've drowned before (yes I died and was brought back) don't even remember it, I love swimming though.

If you are going off those kinda deaths I just don't wanna be alone when I die or takes forever for someone to find my body. Otherwise like I said I don't care about dying haha.

Now that you mention it, I would also be afraid to die in a deserted area where no one will ever find me or take care of my body. My body would simply become part of the environment, and the circle of life would continue. That last bit frightens me, I think the circle of life should be stopped by unnatural means if it means that it benefits humanity. But of course that wouldn't be true so...

The circle continues.

What about getting killed and eaten by wild life?! Your body wouldn't decompose and most wildlife go for the throat for the kill so it'd be fast.

I am not afraid of death, but I am afraid of dying. Being dead doesn't scare me, but the feeling of my life energy slipping out of my body, or having to die in a painful way terrifies me. I especially don't want my death to be prolonged.

I'm not afraid of death per say, but more of what comes after, that great unknown that all religions and beliefs are try to explain, seeing as noone knows whats right and what exactly will happen scares me.

It's not death that fears us, it's the regrets we have before we die. I'm trying my best to enjoy my time here to it's fullest before I look back and be like ''damn, that could have gone so much better''

Science even though fascinating will never gain the immortality that is seen through out things like fantasy fiction etc ?Even if it gets close to that Entropy will make sure that nothing last forever
