Do the original creator get royalty fee from doujin?

I was wondering for doujin based on existing IP, do the original creator get a cut of the profit? I would assume that they do since posting video games footage on youtube would get you a flag for copyright claim and legal issues like that based on the company. Since doujin based on existing IP are popular are there deals that the comic artist work out with the original creator to create the doujin for sale?

In japan no. In the us... probley not since parody is covered under free speech as long as it's not just a copyright reprint of that content. actually Japanese content holders don't care too much because it make good business to get more people to read or watch their content. Unless it just a guro pedophile wet dream using pokemon or something. Now western content holders like Nintendo would care, but they been making Simpsons and other cartoon fan books for years. I read an american dad one.

No.
There was even a student's thesis floating out there on the internet that talks about this theme.
