I have thought about this intensely, and in my personal conclusion is that there isn't one point to a single being, but we do all share the same act of achieving that point and that is selfish goals. We all simple exist because we do, and that is it.(Assuming you don't believe in a divine purpose) Even the people that live their lives to help other are really only doing such because they, as a single being, feel the urge to, therefor they are really only helping others to satisfy that urge. Although we live are lives simply to live them under the false pretense of freewill, it isn't a reason to end ones existence, although if you do that simply means you don't understand the fact that you can do what you will with this life if you can call it that. Knowing why you are alive isn't the question you should ask in the first place, the real one is, how do you know you are alive? We only think we are alive because are conscious says we are. But what if it's wrong?

You are born. You are alive. You have thought and consciousness.

But purpose? You will have none.

Finding a purpose is something all of us look for. It is an integral part of Life's Race. Few want to die without having achieved something. Without having left an impression on the world. Without having made something they can be proud of.

I've always seen it as, since you are not born alone, there is already something to live for. Being together with other people is what humanity seems to be about. Interacting with others and being involved in other people's lives is what gives life meaning.

Yes, you can achieve and find purpose alone, but doing so with others can create a very satisfying feeling.

To me, living to make myself happy and fulfilled is done so by making others feel that way. What I do in life, with my music and design and everything, is done to inspire others. I've performed at some big shows around the world and one of the most satisfying feelings, to date, is meeting people and hearing how happy I've made them. Humans seem driven to create. It is our nature. To create something and see the impact and what it has done to others, is what validates many people I have met, online and offline.

So, a reason to live, is to create. Create anything. Creating relationships, creating a family, creating success, creating children (helluva feeling this one.) the list goes on. Feeling productive is a cure for depression. This is a known fact. To feel needed and to feel accomplished. All things that people seek.

So, to answer your question, I'll say this. Your life. Everyone's life, has a reason. To create. To share. To change.

My belief. Take it for what it is :D

Life doesn't have a meaning unless you give it one in my opinion, if you spend your lifetime wondering 'what is life?' you're generally not living life, you're just being idle and shit. My meaning on my life is living up to my full potential, I want to do so much shit in my life.

Well i realised something maybe will change ur life.

If someone suicide or get killed, their soul will be remain in this world as a hungry ghost or lonely ghost some sort like that.until the other life of you completed the journey of their live. then they will reunite and back to their origin. if someone died young when their life is suppose to have another 50 year. then this person will suffer pretty much in ghost form.

actually this remind me of a lot story that my uncle and grandparent told me.
about ghost. they have often saw a lot ghost after the world war 2. where they are still a young adult. and saw lot maybe hatred and angry ghost.

and some are the story of them when they unable start the engine during the midnight to pee at some mountain ( inside the van have a lot raw chicken wings)
the guys instantly knew something drag the van.

so he grab the chicken wings(some) and throw out to the grass outside.
and when back to his car. restart the car and the engine run smoothly.

and so sorry for my bad english.

As you said, we live to die. The only thing that makes life worth living is the things we do, look forward to and the people we meet. If you think about it the known world is massive so on a grand scale this whole planet means nothing.
But so what if its all pointless?! Beats living forever!

Freedom is life, and life is freedom. We make our own choices. We make our own meanings. We make our own destinies.

Things have the meaning we give them. You can be cynical and take meaning away, you can be neutral and accepting and just not touch others' meanings, you can be idealistic and create purpose and meaning, you can swear yourself to something you see as meaningful or a higher purpose... I should know, I've tried all four.

Right now I just want to be happy, have fun, feel good, and enjoy my life (and share the joy around!). Still working on how to do it, and if/how I want to help others and/or make the world a better place at the same time.

I know many would see transient emotions as meaningless, but for me they're one of the only true "good"s in the world.

Oh, and physical pleasure is always good. I personally usually have better things to do than pursue it, but if you've got nothing better to do... fap away, grab some chocolate, have a hot bath, hit the sauna or beach... nothing wrong with that as long as you don't eat too much and get fat, eat away your money, etc.
