Don't know what to do.

So I quit my second job acouple of months ago due to the fact that it was tedious and strenuous. It was away from my home town so I stayed in their Employee Housing since I had worked at a Hotel Lodge. I had worked there for 2 months but decided to quit since I was only making $8.50 an hour, and since I was living in their employee housing it halved my paycheck with their deductions so I was making less than I should have, and that was the main reason for quitting. I could not live off that. So now I have mostly spent my savings on Anime and Manga that I want. Now I'm basically broke as a hobo. I'm searching for a job so I can buy my Anime and Manga I want and other things to satisfy my needs and wants. But I don't know what to do, since I am nervous of Job Interviews and I don't know what I want to do. And it's really pissing me off that I don't know what I want to do to make income. I don't know if this thread is in the right place, I just needed something to express my current situation.

EDIT: I think I have found some motivation to go out and apply to a job. The place is not open yet, since it's still in some phases of being completed. But they are accepting applications. I shall +rep to all those who have helped me in my time of need. :)

If you really feel you need money, just get some bullshit job to hold you over until you find one you find more suitable. Habits and hobbies tend to be pricey, so you should also look into alternatives. That's why I download or read/watch manga and anime on the internet. Its not so much out of greed as it is an alternative to pissing away money that I need for things higher on my list of priorities.

Selling pot is always an option. I mean its not the most promising, but if you good enough connections you could make insane amounts of money within a week. The problem is that if you start selling it on your own right away, initially you might have to put some money into it. I used to sell and when I started I would spend anywhere from $100-$250, but since where I live business was good I could double whatever I spent. When the police started busting some of the bigger dealers, it kind of affected business overall around here. There were only like three or four major suppliers in my area and since I was only able to get my shit through people that did business with them, it was too hard to get shit to sell, let alone smoke. Getting back on track, if the community is secure for it and there are a lot of people who will come to you, its a very lucrative, albeit illegal, business.

Well the only way to get a job is through a job interview, so I would say if you want one start there. As for selling drugs, the main thing that is the hardest to do is not become your own custumer.

A bit more info to help out would be needed :P Did you study / finish a degree in some way etc.
But a good advice around the area I am in is that you first check out the work agency if they got anything good or if you could get support from there and secondly just take a walk / ride / drive through town and look out for any advertisments or ask around if someone needs help. A good chance is always for decent pay depending on the payout height in your area:
Warehouses, Forwarding Companies, Garden facilities and so on. They often need hands. Some are seasonal, others are in need of help all the time.
It might not be much but it can keep you from going broke. Other options are:
Delivery services, assembling parts in companies that need manual and the like, telephone organization hotlines and so on.
Incase your good with writing and multitasking, try working at an office as secretary or similar.

Those are the generics I can advise doing incase you didn't finish in university, technical school or god knows what.

A couple tips to save money:
If you can't live without internet, downgrade from that high-speed connection and get dial-up or just go to a starbucks or something and mooch off their internet or possibly your neighbors wi-fi.
Get rid of any television subscriptions, TV is for people who aren't looking for a job. You should be constantly looking for work whether its at the unemployment office or in the newspaper or just showing up at some place that interests you.
Be more liberal with the thermostat or simply keep it turned off.
Or move into your buddys place or move back in with your parents and help out with the bills.
Use the bus as transportation or ride your bicycle to get around, gas is way too expensive.
Go on a ramen noodle diet. Cheapest thing you could ever live off of.

I don't mean to be mean but if you are seriously worried about going all hobo then you must cut back spending to just the necessities.

There's a rule of thumb among drug dealers, "don't smoke what you sell." Every good dealer that smokes has two stashes, one for them and one for merchandise, for lack of a better term. If you have to dip into your stash, make sure that you can supplement the amount of money you need to replace it with part of your profit.

That's why my brother failed horribly at every attempt he made to sell drugs, especially heroin. He just did way to much of his own shit and didn't have enough to sell in order to make the money back that he needed. In the end he was like $1000 in debt. The people he was dealing with were far beyond his means in the sense of being able to handle the consequences that would arise from not being able to pay them back. In a way he got off easy because he was hospitalized for a number of medical problems, then he developed skin cancer which spread throughout his body in a few months. I'm not saying he was lucky that he died of cancer, but its a lot better than what would have happened if his connects dealt with their issues with him.

When I was alittle younger my best friend I used to buy OxyContin from died of a overdose from dipping into his sell stash one night. I lose all ambisons to sell after that.

Well I doubt doing illegal buisness is going to be the solution to the problem. Rather earn your money fair, turn towards your community / social helping funds and god knows how many possibilities you have to seek help in finding work / getting on your own feet.
The biggest problem is the own resolve. Without any resolve you sure won't get a job interview done properly or anything.
Look at it like this: The worst thing the guy infront of you can say is "No" in it's thousand forms. Than you just say a nice goodbye, walk out and try out the next one. Everyone get's a bloody nose every now and than trying to get work / asking for something and in many other aspects.
Yes, life's a bitch, nobody dies a virgin death, life screws all. And with that bad saying I am signing out of this post :P

To a certain extent, we are in the same boat. I am currently in search for a full-time job, but I have no idea what position would interest me. However, you appear to have a more pressing issue at hand, namely, that of income.

I agree the first few interviews can be quite intimidating. Apply for jobs which catch your attention. Even though it does not guarantee employment, it allows you to gain experience when dealing with interviews.

Good luck dood!

Might I suggest having a little yard sale to help tide you over for now? Stuff you don't need or don't want anymore you can sell.

Or might I suggest selling a bunch of manga or anime that have saved over the years on E-Bay or something? I did that with all of my manga. I got substantially less money than what I bought it all for (I had about 100 graphic novels and sold them in sets for a little over than half the price of what I originally bought them for.) but still, it's quick cash.

You need to stop buying the things you want and only buy what you NEED (and no, you don't NEED anime/manga so don't pull that one! xD ). You just have to learn to save, save, save especially in times like these.

I am looking for a job for myself right now, but I am lucky enough to not have any bills since I live with my dad and he's nice enough to provide me with the necessities. Although all other stuff like hobbies and games I have to pay for myself.

So you're saying that selling weed is an unfair way to earn money?

Not unfair, but my parent's didn't bring me up to make money out of other peoples misfortune (I count drug addictiveness as a misfortune). Also I think in the long run your screwed in Germany / Denmark because with most good positions where you can get a job after studying, you will have to present a certificate given out by the police that you did not violate the law. Don't know how it is in other countries regarding that.

In America, they do background checks which is kind of the same thing. There's an easy way around getting a bad record when you're selling drugs. All you need to do is lay low and be smart about who you're selling to. If someone is looking to get drugs, they'll find a way. The harder more effort someone has to put into finding someone who'll sell to them, the more likely they are to buy some bad shit. I personally see it as a service because when I was selling, I would sell the same type of weed that I smoked, so I knew there was nothing wrong with it. I get what you mean about making money from other people's addictions, but its no different than a lot of legal industries. Weed is a much safer product than the majority of products manufactured and put on the market these days.

start a food business.you need some money to start it though.....so you have to do the "trash" jobs for a while.

the cheapest would be to run a food stall.

do you live in the states?
i'm tired of seeing hot dog/gyro/kebab/pizza stalls in the states.

you should try something more exotic.

indonesian satay ayam, nasi goreng, and nasi timbel is worth selling.

No, I'm just a 20 year old dood with a HS diploma. Nothing higher than that. :? I've tried a program that the people would help me find a job, but I had to fill out all these frackin' forms that I gave up on them. But since we're getting a Target finally, I think I'll try applying with them to be a night stocker, just for the fact I'd get discounts on anime. 8)
Thanks for the advice, Eranikum.
