God require people to let them selves screwed in order to prove faith, there's no moral benefit on it for the believer. The drive is not moral development but the temptation of Heaven and fear of Hell. Also belief of God is a matter of emotion, example, many Catholic's tradition are pagan but you can see them so confident, you see, it's about the feeling than reality, you know, we know outer space, it isn't mentioned that God is somewhere far in space, unless God and Angels are hiding from astronauts but we still like to believe.

Faith is not about feeling and if anyone tells you otherwise just laugh. It is not a feeling it is a conviction! and god is outside the reality that we are in He is not out in Space He is outside of it watching all. and that is how He sees All becase he is outside of it. It is in comparison to holding an object that is crystal clear in your hands. You can see all sides of it and see through it nothing is hidden from the eye

This is the conversation Adam had with God before the creation of Eve:

Adam: God, I am lonely and bored. Please make me a companion.

God: I will make you a woman as a companion.

Adam: What will she be like?

God: She will cook and clean for you. She will not complain. She will not give you headaches. She will not make you miserable because she is. She will lay with you every night without complaint. She will make and clean your clothes. She will support and agree with your every decision. She will tell you that you are always right. She will never lie to you. She will not be unfaithful to you.

Adam: What will something like this cost me?

God: An arm and a leg.

Adam: What can I get for a rib?

Whether you want to believe it is a miracle from God is on you though.

In the context of Carthagianian's quote, that's what I meant.

Also, his post bothers me in that: Does it mean that a person who _doesn't_ get better simply isn't good enough in God's eyes?

I believe in God, but "if you do as He says, you'll get better" strikes me as hogwash. Bad things happen to good people (not that I take that as evidence that God doesn't exist), and quite a number of good people don't "get better".

Ah yes, the rain falls on the wheat and the weeds, the just and the unjust.

Faith is believing with no proof. When you offer faith, whatever will not matter and keep devotion, it ends up in a trapped feeling that started from conviction. So far, I haven't read anything about God is from a different dimension while looking at us, it's just that, he's in space since Genesis, is when he created heaven & earth.
