I´d say that real gay people not just pretenders are born that way, they just don´t choose to be gay. Call it a DNA anomaly, but those who CHOOSE to be gay are not really gay. They can be gay to a certain degree but it just is not the same as they would be born gay.

My opinion...lol

In an episode of 30 Days, a straight man lives in San Francisco for a month. At one point, he is talking to a gay person there, and the person asks, "Do you choose to be straight? Can you control being attracted to women?" or something to that effect. The straight guy, of course, said he couldn't. Sums up the issue pretty simply.

Also, if you can't find a less offensive way to refer to people than calling them "gays," or saying a person is "a gay," then you're not trying. "Homosexual" is a perfectly fine term.

I think that it's probably 90% biological. Animals don't have social consciousness but plenty of them go gay under the right circumstances. It's far more prevalent in large populations or under very stable conditions (i.e. No predators or lack of food). I have no interest in what causes gayness though. People are always going to be gay so whatever.

I believe that they had a choice, and that they chose to be gay.

I must ask you, do you choose to be straight? Do you wake up every morning and say to yourself, "I'm gonna love pussy today. Maybe I'll love the cock just to see-NO! I'M GONNA LOVE PUSSY TODAY, AND THAT'S THAT!"

lmfao.
wait how about if one day, you go on having sex with this girl in bed.
she just cannot get you off or anything, you think to yourself why isnt this exciting?
for me, either way is right. i do not really care since i am not 'homosexual' and have a limited number of gay friends.
(which i was curious enough to ask but they said they did not know) [/h]

If, one day, heterosexual sex stops being exciting, and you can only get turned on by homosexual stuff, that's not really your fault. You still wouldn't be "choosing" to be gay, because you didn't make a conscious choice to stop liking heterosexual stuff.

I don't think that being gay is right or wrong, but from a choice prospective I think there is a genetic aspect to it. I know there was a study done on gay sheep and they, scientists, think they found a gay gene in sheep.

To answer a question with another question:

Why would anyone choose to be gay with the way straight people, Republicans, chruches and etc treat gays? Why don't you choose to be gay? Just for a day, like the same sex.

As for being born with it, go ask science. I think it's something that is developed...

I work with a coworker and on his birth certificate his name is Angel, and he's gay. What's the coincidence in that?

For Men it isn't a choice.

For Women it isn't a choice.

For Bi it isn't a choice.

But, for heterosexual.

It is a choice.

I was too lazy to type "a choice" again.

You are attracted to who you are attracted too based on many things, and one of the most important of those things is pharamones. Truly gay people respond to the pharamones of the same sex rather than the oposite sex.
There is a theory that it's an evolutionary trait to cut down on over-population while still providing for the basic human need for companionsip.
I cannot say if this is absolutely true, but it is scientifically valid.

This statement doesn't make any sense. How can being straight be a choice if all the alternatives aren't choices? There are people that aren't particularly interested in sex but everyone is either attracted to men, women, or both. There's no such thing as an actual "non-sexual".

I think you learn to like a gender based on those around you. Family, friends, society and so on. I don't think you choose to be gay. I think it just happens with time. Maybe for some it happens so early, you assume the person is born gay.[/h]

i think humans are born bisexual, and chose to repress one side or the other...

It all depends. Some people are born gay but, sometimes people are turned into being gay because of circumstances around them.

To address my previous statement: The "sometimes people are turned gay because of circumstances around them" I meant that traumatic experiences can also change ones sexual preferences such as molestation or abuse.

To show my new stance on the subject I'll quote Ron White

Ron White wrote...
We're all gay, man. It's just to what extent are you gay."
