What if god does exist. And we're a forgotten pet, Mortal souls left to die.

CS Lewis wrote trilogy about situation similar to but even more dire than this: "Out of the Silent Planet", "Perelandria", and "That Hideous Strength". You might find it interesting.

As an existential nihilist, I feel compelled to say, 'I don't care'.

"Fuck damnation, man! Fuck redemption! We are God's unwanted children? So be it!"

I`ll said: "OH..... is that so?" Then continue my life....
I do not really care.....

For someone who doesn't give a fuck about god, it's only fair that it doesn't give a shit about me.

Meh. Paganism is so much more fun.

MY gods regularly get drunk and beat the shit out of each other.

I am totally looking forward to Valhalla.

As evidenced by the previous posts, it would only really matter to people who are devout in their faith.

Personally, I'd start keeping tabs on the number of suicides following that discovery.

We, humanity, is god's bastard children!!!!
God is a deadbeat dad who doesnt pay child support or monthly visits.
And me too, valhalla is my ideal paradise, unlimited chicks, food and beat the crazy shit out of each other every single day!!!!

First and foremost, this is simply a drunk man's thought. I have no faith in god, and less in the human race...what a sad thing to say...But I like that quote and I hope it's inspired by the book and not by the movie. the movie doesn't do the story justice.

But another point...when you don't believe in god you're an atheist, why is that a religion again?

And a question for Space Cowboy...Are you sure you're an existential nihilist or a moral nihilist. Actually I ask all nihilists this question.

(If you're not aware, existential nihilist's believe life has no meaning. I.E. No God, While Moral Nihilists believe No morals exist. As in Anarchy.)

Personally I am the latter, If you can even call me anything but insane.

I find myself doubting you have incurred a respectable body count on the field of war or that you will die in battle.
But one can hope, I guess...

Sanity is really a relative thing.

God is indefinite. Can be anything you want, or anything you believe.

Damn.. I am indeed a bastard-religious person.

First, I'll admit it was the movie. I know it doesn't do the story justice, but if it means anything (hahaha), I waited years to actually watch it. Books are better anyhow.

Also, I know the difference, and yes, I believe life has no meaning (although I'm still unsure, but I don't know why I am).

Also also, I believe there's a difference between atheism and blah blah blah, in that atheists 'know' there is no God, in the way that religious 'know' there is a God. I simply don't care, and think we have no meaning here.

Or maybe we have a meaning but it's not ours? Who knows? It has not been proven that a god does or does not exist.

'Morals' are just something to control our existence in the way that determines whether we live or die. If we do not adhere to rules, we die out as a species, and possibly take others along with us. They are just a way to preserve ourselves as a whole.

Gaping holes in reason/beliefs, yadda yadda, whatever ^_^

Ever been in a religious debate? People like this are too good for evidence and logic and shit.

I'll assume you're serious and say, I agree. I mean, I have a relatively good life, I have money, and I'm alive. Why not believe in a God. Though I follow no religion, I feel as though I should thank someone.

Lol, i c wat u did thar.
All three aren't proven to exist, yet being happy with my life (for the most part), I believe in one. I mean, where else could we have come from.

For those who say Big Bang, wtf made the big bang appear?

Sometimes I believe in God, sometimes not.

This isn't directed at you per se, but sometimes people need to fucking realize that we can't have all the answers to the universe and "I don't know" is the best answer to questions like, "What created the universe?"

Lol, well I respect people's beliefs, so I don't go around telling people to join a religion or burn in hell. I don't really believe in hell actually. I just believe in a God, my own God... lol it's weird. Haha, I'm weird.
