is death really the end?

when you die you slip into darkness forever what if when you die you just stop and you rot in the ground.

Exactly what happens.

There is no bright light, soothing voice, or any of that jazz. Anyone who claims of such things (out of body experiences) were just experiencing heavy hallucinations. Sure- they might have been diagnosed as officially dead- but if they come back- then they never really were, and whatever they claimed to have seen was simply the smallest remnants of consciousness struggling to hold on.

Nah.

When you're dead- you're fucking dead.

Bam. Zip. Show's over.

There.

Is.

Nothing.

So enjoy life while you can- it's the only one you're gonna get, and you've already spent right up 'till now wasting it.

Its quite complex , As far as i read in science about parallel universes , Life will still continue , even you will still be alive in some other universe , but The you in that universe will not be the you in this universe , Thats pretty much it ....
So Death is more or less the end for your own consciousness but your body will still exist According Quamtum physics -_- or according to parallel universe theory or string theories

None of those ideas have been proven or predict anything that we can confirm.

Its the best so far , The best theory any one can come up with till now , You now light behaves as a particle as well as a wave , thus Particles itself or sub particles themselves behave like a wave as well as a particle , Waves unlike particles can exist at many places at once , Just like the light from the sun , Thus particles itself and our own make up of the body can behave both like a wave as well as a particle , Our sub atomic particles can exist at many places at once .
Therefore our bodies must exist at more places than once , Thats how people actually came up with an Idea of multi verses , And multi verse also define the expanding universe in the best possible manner .
At this moment most of the scientist would believe in multi verse theories than anything else since its the most legit so far .
We will know more as the research on how our universe came into existence keeps being researched at CERN

Please try a different language, because your English is absolutely atrocious; I'm well familiar with Physics and Quantum Mechanics but I barely managed to salvage any sort of coherent thought out of that grammatical wreckage.

Anyways, for what you have said, it's all the same; The cessation of the conscious mind- any sense of self-awareness whatsoever- is equivalent to absolute death.

You no longer exist in any way that matters, because you will not be aware of it. Doesn't matter if your sub-atomic particles or monofilaments or quarks or anything else still exist- because your mind won't.

So until we can find some way to transport consciousness outside of the body and into a medium that has an amount of permanence- Death is still something that we all (rightly so) fear and dread.

The body means nothing. Let the damn thing rot.

My mind is what I hold most precious.

As a christian, I do not believe death is the end. When you die you go to heaven and you can be with people you love. If you believe in god that is.

I've thought about this a bit, but it's late and I'm way too tired to post out my entire theory. So I'll tl;dr it.

What we're experiencing is just a dream of our true selves, our dreams are our actual lives, and when we "die" we just move onto a different phase of our life. Or a new dream, if you will.

No one truly knows the answer to that question. I'm currently a christian but I also believe the bible is taken way too literal (maybe that doesn't make me a christian anymore, not sure). There is no doubt that when you die your life energy continues on. Whether that energy is conscious or not is up for debate. When you hear about the near death experiences, they're almost always portrayed as a calming sensation or inner peace before you pass. I've actually had dreams about this scenario and in my dream, after achieving inner peace, I wasn't afraid to die even after the thought of simply not existing entered my brain. My point being, if death is the end or we keep living after death, at least some part of us will keep going on no matter what. I find that somewhat comforting.

It really depends on hw you look at things. Some people believe there's an afterlife while others just believe that nothing happens at all.

As for me, I believe it's alot like sleeping. From the trend that I've noticed about death, is that the person who is dying (who isn't instantly killed by a bullet to the head) gets a feeling similarly to being tired and the want to go to sleep. You ever been up for at least 2 days, and while you're watching TV while laid in bed your eyes just keep wanting to shut? I think it's an awful lot like that. Only when they do give in and "fall asleep", their body shuts down and they never wake up. Kinda takes the saying "Died peacefully in their sleep" alot more literally than just dying while they were sleeping.

As for an afterlife or reincarnation, I kinda believe in reincarnation. It would explain why I keep getting the familiar feelings of Deja-vu.

Death is the end, it has to be the end. It is important that things come to an end, because really, think about it. Do you really want to live eternally? if one life is trying enough, now imagine all eternity. You must accept that everything has to die. Even things that are not alive, they have to "end", they have to change. Either way, why be afraid of it, if it ends, then you won't even notice it.

To me, death is just a new beginning. I believe in reincarnation, its just too hard for me to comprehend not existing in one form or another.

To quote Dawkins, "Do I think we [humans] cease to exist and essentially turn into dust when we die? Yes."

Life is death and death is life...

You can try to hide from death, but he'll find you sooner or later....

I try not to think about it. Why not stop thinking about death and do as much as you can in your life?

I honestly believe there's something else after death. I know a lot of people, including myself, when someone close to them dies, they like to picture them in a more happy place. I honestly want to believe that there's paradise waiting for me when I die. It's a comfort thing.

Oh Tegumi. We agree on so much, yet you clearly don't like me.

Can't we be friends? You quote Dawkins, I quote Hitchens. We're almost the same person :).

Because your argument against why "belief in a religion isn't a true dichotomy" is "if it's not, then true dichotomies don't exist".

Well now you'll have to refresh my memory. Where did I ever say belief in religion isn't a true dichotomy BECAUSE if it wasn't, there would be none?

I don't even talk about belief in 'religion' too much so much as belief in god.

Would you agree that a true dichotomy takes the form of the following: X, or Not X?

Refresh your memory? You should be capable of doing that yourself. And yes, sorry, belief in a god.

I do believe I explained several times throughout the process of that topic that the form of a dichotomy takes the form of either X, or not X. And not X can include maybe X.

And then I demonstrated that whether or not god exists is something you either believe...or don't believe. And disbelieving doesn't at all necessarily entail believing that the claim is in actuality WRONG. Not belief does not equal belief not.

Also, in that topic you actually made the claim that this ISN'T a dichotomy because ,and I'm quoting you here, "I believe there are always shades of gray. Nothing is this black and white."

So in essence, it's not that I was arguing that belief in god has to be a dichotomy because otherwise there are none, it's that you were asserting that indeed there is no such thing as one.

It really depends what your religion is ir even if you do or don't have a religion.
I'm an Atheist so Yes I do believe it's the end.
