Is it okay for a girl to be perverted?

I'm of the female gender, who likes anime/manga/Doujinshi and a lot of them are ecchi/mature/smut. So wouldn't that make me a pervert. It doesn't make me a bad person I don't think.

This topic alone raises the issue of double standard. If men can be depicted as perverts in the media, I don't see why women can't. Ofc my argument is not limited to only media. My wife is a very lewd person and personally I couldn't care less.

I'm relatively masculine in my interests, but I still look very feminine. So I try and keep it to myself to avoid judgement.

If we expect men to not wear skirts or cry or whatever, then there will be set expectations for women as well.

It just so happens that being perverted is established as one of the less attractive or "ladylike" traits.

I have thought about this numerous times as well, and I never reached a conclusion. However, let me just throw out what I think. While a large majority of the society label perverted girls as "sluts," I say the polar opposite. Girls that are perverted should be proud of themselves, to the point where I would even respect them. Ultimately, isn't it a female's job to bear an offspring? I wouldn't exactly say that I respect prostitutes, but I think there is a fine line between having a perverted mindset and being a "slut." One can simply love and sleep with one man while having a perverted mind, but at the same time not be a "slut."

I don't see why a girl cannot be perverted. Now most girls aren't as forthcoming as a male I suppose, but doesn't mean it is not okay for us. I like being perverted and I know when to be and to be civilized I guess.

In all reality, I, as a guy, find perverted girls to be really awesome. I don't mean that in a crude way, either. I just find that talking to a girl equally perverted as I am is kind of odd, quite interesting, and really fun. I think that anyone should have the right to think and feel as they want, as long as they aren't harming anyone.

Personally, I think it's fine for just about anyone to be perverted. The whole thing about "perversion" is that it's really just a deviation from the expected norm. That said, if you really think about it, there are probably VASTLY more people into something a tad on the kinky side then there are people who have no kinks at all. Most people don't give a shit unless you are into something they find truly disturbing, or if they're one of those obnoxious folks who can't tolerate when someone else has a different view on something. Those kinds of people will always find something to try and call you out on. Ignore them.

My answer to your question is no; girls are allowed to be as sexual/perverted as they like, just as much as guys are.
