Regardless u have to intervene if things happen i am sure it will surely affect you partial or whole, if you don't want pointless trouble working towards you, then might as well prevent it, if the other fella that is taking him/her back says no tell him/her to talk to your dead body, because is your friend and i trust you want won't want anything happen to them right ? besides friends always count on you in case something like this happen to them so disappointing them isn't a way to a strong friendship...

That's a good point. Even if your friend is a guy if he has been drinking it will have an effect on his decision making. That could result in him being too aggressive, not using condoms, or putting them wrong. Or if the girl he is with is a real bitch she can go around accusing him of rape, I've seen that happen.
