No.
Marijuana degenerates mind, even in grown up age.
Consumers can get bad taste and lose the feeling and appreciation of the purity and neatness of European, Japanese and and other sophisticated art.
They begin to admire morbid artworks. Works from feverish fantasies of hoplessly sick minds. Works like saladfingers or the behaviours like that woman who rubbed her crotch and shit on stage.
You want a nation full of hipsters?

And most people do underestimate the other damage potentials of marihuana.
It is not harmless.

The idea that marijuana degenerates the mind is a product of years of negative propaganda. For some reason there are way too many people that put more stock in the claims of outdated propaganda rather than accredited university studies.

And marijuana doesn't make you just like "morbid" art, you will more than likely appreciate ALL art. You certainly do NOT lose any appreciation of "sophisticated" art.

There are several uses for the bud but even not taking that part into consideration the stalk has so many uses it isn't even funny and hemp even use to be a major crop in america. So I ask why are we stupid and not making it legal, then we could get out of this financial shit hole we're in.

If it were legal, it would be easier for everyone to get to. Kids might be able to get to it easier as well. It depends if the pros outweigh the cons.

Just going to leave this here - Washington has legalized both recreational and medicinal cannabis.

The anti-hemp smear campaign was the government's effort at preventing loss of profit from paper industries by legalizing hemp, which produces many cheap alternatives to certain resources. The 'stupid' thing may arguably, be both a product of the above and the fact it's a depressant, whose effects are temporary, but do seem to make noticeable changes in behavior. A depressed brain function isn't the same as loss of brain function.

Well, now days kids can get it quite easily because dealers dont really care about the age of the person who's buying. And they can also ask some of their adult friends to buy some for them. But if it was properly legal (sold in headshops etc), then the amount of dealers would most likely go down and it would be harder for kids to buy it themselves. Then the kids who dont know an adult person who would buy it for them would have hard time getting it.

Even when the dispensaries are set up, where in Washington, next year not many people will buy it. Weed will be taxed by around 50 percent at every channel of distribution (and there's going to be at least 3) making it pretty expensive. My Gov. Class had to read the "book" that was the provisions of 502. If someone was a big pot head it would be cheaper to get a 2000 dollar growers license... but none of this matters to me since I don't smoke and won't legally be able to for 2 years.

Portugal was able to significantly cut down his country's addiction rate by decriminalizing drugs and treating drug addiction as a public health issue. Not exactly the same thing but hopefully you can strain your stupid little brain and get the idea.

I had this same conservation with with a friend of mine and we finally decided that marijuana should be legalized, but that the government wouldn't do it since they wouldn't be able to control it all (aka tax it). You could grow it in your back yard and the government wouldn't get a dime xD

You need quite alot of equipment for the growing + some seeds, so they would get money from that at least. And I know that in many countries you can buy all the needed equipment from stores already (like here for example), but seeds would still be a new source of money. But still, if it was legal more people would grow it for themselves and more people would be buying all the stuff for growing, so more money.
And ofcourse the fact that they would SAVE money by throwing all the potheads out from prisons.

See it's not in the US government's best interest to decriminalise drugs. It means they have to stop the 'war on drugs', which in turn means they can't sell weapons and 'support' to various countries. The US prison system earns the country's coffers quite a bit of money so again not in their interest to have less people in prison.

It also doesn't help that many of the people in power have their fingers in the pie so to speak so lots of vested interests wanting to keep the status quo.

More to it than stopping people from being able to light a dooby that's just a side effect.

I just got into this thread but here goes: I really, really think weed should be legal. It was just outlawed simply because of needs way back when. But truth be told, weed has a lot of medicinal purposes. Besides, peanuts have killed far more people than marijuana last 2010. :D

When was the last time a pothead went and shot up a school or robbed a gas station? When you are that mello, violent crimes aren't exactly on the top of your list. Add that to the taxes and regulation, well its not the best step but its a step in a better direction than 'JUST DON'T FUCKIN DO IT' like they've been running for years.

When I'm high, even cooking feels a bit more dangerous. With all the knives and hot stove and all. I'm always extra careful in kitchen when I'm high :) Also its quite horrible to watch fail videos on youtube high. I usually laugh my ass off at some of them, but when I'm high I just cant stop thinking about how much some of them hurt cause some actually look like you could die from them D:

That wasnt really serious discussion from me, but meh.

I've only ever used it once or twice myself, but I know the friends I have that smoke are extremely mellow, and just as you said, they are extremely careful in what they do. One of the reason why Poptarts make such awesome stoner-food. I do know that the few times I've used it, I've had a similar feeling of being hyper aware of how things become harder for me to do. Its an interesting drug, but most of what i was saying was that its not a violent crime drug like meth. That and there's the old saw about how Alcohol kills more people too.

Legalize it ... makes everyone chill out and enjoy themselves. I am not a smoker myself, but my bros are and they tend to be more calm if they have a comfortable time with weed.

If it does have a negative impact on health, then shouldn't the public be educated by it's use? I am just saying, the more you know the better.

I don't think government has any power to take the rights of smoking weed away from people, it makes USA look more like a restricted land rather than the land of the free.

I think let it be legal with it as its a persons choice to smoke whether it be deisel, grape ape, white rhino or any other name for it as i personally dont smoke myself i know people who do/have and where i live 30% of people get arrest for just possession and the rest is driving issues but light it up if you want to.

Don't include speculation in an argument unless it's based on a true premise, because there is nothing that says legalizing cannabis would help kids acquire the drug more easily.

The major difference between a legalization and a criminalization of cannabis is that the drug itself, aswell as your surrounding environment while purchasing it, will be safer when legalized. You don't have to rely on criminals, and people who are potentially dangerous, to handle the drug, nor do you have to worry about people mixing other dangerous substances into the drug for profit.

Nah pot is way easier to get than alcohol when a kid. In relating alcohol and cannabis and every other regulated substance. Mainly because dealers dont care who they get the money from. Where as alcohol its harder to find people to give you alcohol when a kid. At least in my opinion.
0
I'm Canadian and i find that its not really hard to get alcohol for one if you try and a lot of people are willing to give it to you but on weed regulating it ain't gonna do shit a determined kid and or teen will get whatever they want plain and simple whether its bad parenting that lets them get it or friends cigarettes your not supposed to be able to obtain until 19 here dunno how old in america but teens and kids always manage to get it right? also when smoking marijuana your heartbeat increases and within the first hour of its use your chance of a heart attack is increased by 4 times some people have distorted perception during use. you can also get many of the ill effects that smokers get when smoking such as *Daily cough and phlegm production
*More frequent acute chest illnesses
*Increased risk of lung infections
*Obstructed airways
so sure more money woop dee doo i doubt the benefits out weigh the problems.

marijuana REALLY should be legal.I mean, think about it, it a medicinal herb in small amounts, and since its a plant, its all good. Tobacco should be illegal since that shit can give you CANCER!(and this is coming from a guy who has NOT smoked)
