Ok, so I did a search on this subject and came up negative. However, if this has already been posted I appologise.

Anyway, This is about your personal concept of heaven and/or hell. It's not supposed to be a discussion on religious beliefs.

My concept of heaven is to roam the universe as a bodiless entity of pure knowledge. To explore the universe without the hinderance of a physical body, and see all of the spectacular phenomenon that occur in our universe. I'm gonna stick with heaven for now.

Ever since the matrix, I'm constantly wondering if I'm not living something that is fake and I wonder if people who are my family here are my family out there and if all the people who have died are the only ones who have escaped the grasp of this fakeness. I sometimes wonder if maybe I should join them but then again if I'm wrong then it's over. Some things just don't seem to be right. I don't think there really is a heaven or hell, but I do think that there is something that will allow our consciousness to be able to still roam free and witness things. Quite possibly our consciousness will be recycled into some other being wheter it's human or not and have our memories erased or modified.

Ah, god bless atheism(snicker). I don't believe in hell. However if I were to create my own personal hell, it would be a revisitation of my time in the army, add in a few people from my gaming life, and voila my personal hell, but that would only last for so long before I would grow inured to it, then it would have to change.

I have this big problem with the concept of hell, after a while you will just stop giving a damn about what they are doing to you, even physical pain you can basically ignore after so long.

I don't think heaven or hell exists. Incase it would, either the devil or god would have send my father down to earth already and would be standing infront of my flat with a white flag, begging for forgiveness and asking me to make him shut up :P

Jokes aside, as said, I don't believe in heaven or hell. It is an antiquated concept of "punishment and reward", that has lost it's meaning. The church (luckily) doesn't control us to the degree anymore it once did, thus heaven or hell aren't as threatening as they once were.
I have many ideas of what might be after death, but as there is no proof for any of them, I would go with the Buddhism regarding the state of nirvana and everything being empty.

Hmm...My personal Heaven would be a place to simply float and explore.

Something akin to the idea of the Astral Plane.

I don't have a hell. I'm capable of tolerating anything, and eventually subverting it to my will.

I believe in heaven and hell, the heaven and hell spoken of in the bible; I also believe most of the rules that bible dictates are probably wrong and are just a form of guideline to follow; I believe if you are a good person and do good things you will go to heaven, even if you sin sometimes. Hell is reserved for those who sin too often and simply act without conscience. Whether heaven is a big cloudy place where I can meet my old relatives and play golf with God i'm unsure but I would like to believe that I will one day seem my loved ones who are no longer with me.

personally i think when its over its over but if there is one i would hope for a hell with lots of fire and pain and a heaven with me, my labtop, instant internet, with no need for sleep, no need for food, and no pain in the eyes when sitting in front of the screen for 24hrs.

heaven:
basically earth without all the hardships and bad points and our wish always granted

hell:
basically earth without all the good things, with constant abuse and torture

mine's very simple,

Heaven: good place where good people go after death(most likely non-existent)

Hell: bad place where bad people go after death(as likely to be non-existent as heaven)

Earth: where people originated from and where the basic sense of what's good or bad was defined by people in the first place, and the birth place of social standards or values(meanings of good and bad that formed the creation of the concepts of heaven and hell)(in another word, the birthplace of heaven and hell)

The non-mormon in me says,"Hell is other people", it also says,"Heaven is inside in the female parts of Hell".

there are 7 rings of purgatory. if you "served" your time in purgatory you get burnt in the ovens and go straight to hell run by former ss-members who now work for god to help with the efficiency of the final solution of the sinners question since with the new ages the numbers of sinners have increased exponentially. and purgatory, which was actually meant to be there till the day of judgment, is overcrowded.

for the judgment system you have to understand that (the christian) god is (according to the bible and teachings of the vatikan and its clergy) antisemitic (because they killed his son), he loves aristocrats and land owners, he does not tolerate opposition, he doesnt understand science and would not tolerate if his creations became smarter than him.

inscribed moto upon arival at the gates of hell:
"repenting makes free" (its a pun on arbeit macht frei - work makes free inscribed in the kz's)

first ring of purgatory
approximately 2/3 of all dead, all the laymen and religiously apathetic (that repented). they lead a rather regular life where its sunday every day but the shops (selling religious items, like crosses and candles) are open. its basically a catholic babbit paradise.

second ring
limbus puerorum
unborn fetuses (natural or aborted) and unbabtized children

third ring
christian zealots of all confessions, faithful protestants, orthodox christians and liberal catholics.
(are debating all the time)

fourth ring
musicians, writers, artists and scholars
are forced to develop theological narcisism

the artists are forced to paint and sculpt madonna kitsch

the writers and musicians are forced to compose clergical music in c-dur

fifth ring
moslems, hindus buddhists and other non christian fundamentalists
eternal holy war between all religions, since they cant kill each other they consecutively behead prisoners or torture them.

sixth ring
faithful jews
basically its a large KZ with ex ss totenkopf members as wardens

seventh ring
reserved for capital sinners
including people that turned against or away from god due to ethical or philosophical reasons and especially those that made this reasons public leading others astray(such as nietzsche, camus, marx, feuerbach, kant, heine, schopenhauer, epikur, de beauvoir, luxembourg)
they are forced to do sisyphos work, mining ore that constantly regrows and similar stuff
twice a day there is a great feast and they are served delicious looking stuff which tastes like turd.

heaven is reserved for all canonized people and other saints

I never grew up with any type of religion....soo when I grew up and really thought about it I took a realistic point of view and compared death like turning off a lamp. I just think my body shuts down, I'm nonexistent, and I don't obviously know it. Just nothing. I think humans invented religioun from fear of whats gonna happen afterwards or to explain what they know little to nothing about...

But I would love to believe that we get reincarnated... or something

And since I totally didn't read the first sentence correctly, here is my updated post!

My personal heaven... well I would say that would be able to continue learning and exploring the world/universe.. finding about everything and anything and experiencing it.

As for my hell... that would be sitting in void.. no objects, no wall, no other life.. just me.. and the void.
*shudder*

Ok, a lot of you guys don't seem to get it. I'm not asking whther or not you believe in heaven or hell. I'm asking what your personal concept of heaven or hell is. Like what would bring you joy in the afterlife. Hell, it could even be something you enjoy most in life.

heaven, taking the form of another human, and not knowing anything AT ALL about your past lives, hell, just never exsisting, ever (atheism point of view) but thats what im starting to believe, cant hurt to believe right? =D
