Question about sub

-2
After using Fakku since forever due to free weekend, I am curious why you all chose to charge 13$ a month for convenience?

I was considering getting sub myself till I saw 13$....13$ a month for a LIMITED selection of porn....I'm sure you know you can read the stuff posted here on other sites right?

Tbh the only stuff I find worth it are the physical books, since you can't get that anywhere else.

Maybe Ill come back when there is the inevitable price reduction on subs.

Thanks for the free trial anyways (:

It's quite simple why people choose to pay for fakku porn... someone has to... right. Or do you think if there wasn't enough people buying it jacob would keep paying for translators, editors, QC, Mike's skinny jeans, wani's bill, the guy who delivers the 'special items for fun' and Ben's meds just because? Most simple answer here... if no one paying for it within a certain number of subs then it wouldn't continue and the rippers wouldn't be able to rip and post elsewhere. SO your free access wouldn't exist and you're left with whatever scan group picks up and the few decensored manga put out that year.

This is true of EVERYTHING on the net. No funds, no fun. Someone has to pay for something to get something to share from comics to movies to anime to porn to software to your text books ect ect.... or do you think it magically exists in a pirate or fan sub form by some magical act of fuckdashery? People buy your manga or magazine then scan then sub and not always by the same person. Plus someone most likey paid for your 'free' hentai. Commissions to ads on their site.

Do you know how to read? Not once did I say it should be free, I said the price should not be on par with a game's monthly sub for nothing more than convenience. Also having a free weekend so early on since going pure sub just shows that they don't have as much subs as they'd like, they're already trying to get more people.

I read through Animefreak's post a few times before saying this but he never accused you of saying the Sub should be free.

On the other hand he did mention a few points to support why the $13 price point has been working, i.e. FAKKU still counties to grow, if they were in the red they would have lowered the entry sub price long ago.

The fact that they are hiring more staff, and expanding their territory within the international Hentai game is proof that what they are doing is working.

Also you were very vocal to point out that the sub only gives you access to a limited amount of porn. Is there truly anything in this world that gives you access to something unlimited?

Whether you subscribe to Hulu, Netflix, Crunchyroll, etc. You will never have an unlimited amount of things to view.

Also your use of the word "inevitable", just hit me the wrong way, to say something is "inevitable", means that it will happen no matter what, but as history has shown prices of Subs, and just general products tend to always go up. Netflix has done away with their entry level Sub, Hulu introduced a more premium Sub, and Crunchyroll has done the same. As more variety of content becomes available, it may make more sense to increase the price. However Jacob has stated several times before the sub will NOT increase. However if I am wrong and the sub price does go down then I will accept that, eat crow, and I still win cause I will pay less.

That aside while I won't argue that they are doing the free trial slightly early in the Subscription's life, people have been screaming free trial and free content since before all the non-licensed content was even removed. They have given out a few free chapters here and there for special occasions, and now they are being more aggressive about it. This was also a way to collect large amounts of data for how to handle the free trials, there's more to it then, "oh damn no one is subscribing, let's give everyone fee access, and see who joins." No matter how many people subscribe to any subscription based service they will always try to acquire more people to subscribe. That's the nature of any business in the entire world.

When I talk about limited porn Im talking about a huge number of tags and content under tags that were completely removed. So in the case of online hentai, there are a couple of sites that have an endless supply of tags and content avalible.

The monthly $13 gives you access to three magazines, which by themselves would otherwise cost you over $16 if you bought them in Japan. You're not simply getting the same content either, with our releases being localized, uncensored using the original artwork, and available in HQ digital form (as opposed to printed on LQ paper), which at this point consists of about a year's worth of releases. You'll need an active subscription to access the content, but you also get access to the entire backlog when you do. Finally, we already have a few Western chapters in the service, and going forward there will be a couple of dollars worth of doujinshi added each month.

"It's available elsewhere" is an argument you can make about practically any form of digital media. Naturally other sites will have more content, since they simply pool together decades of scanlation, with very few of them producing anything themselves—if they do, it's typically only a small portion of the content, just like FAKKU before the change. Other sites can easily offer it for free since they're based on piracy and don't have to a pay staff or the original content creators.

The main reason (in my opinion) to pay for any digital media is because you want to support the creators. Nothing is truly free, and the only reason it seem that way is because enough people chose to pay for it, which in turn allows the creators to continue producing more content. If you can afford it and want the service to continue and/or grow, you should show support by pay for it.

(I think I've been very objective, but for the sake of full disclosure, I work at FAKKU.)

Just noticed some of the more controversial tags were added back. Since it seems like Fakku is finally not caving like they did in the past I might actually be buying a sub sooner than I expected.
