[Locked] Serious Discussion Rules And Guidelines

Keep It Serious

There's a reason we created a separate forum for this. If you're not going to contribute to the topic or have anything productive to add, you may be better off not saying anything at all. This also applies for those who wish to start a topic. If you know it's a meaningless topic that going to lead nowhere, do us all a favor and drop it. There are forums such as 'Babbling' for non-serious discussion.

Keep Your Cool

No one wants to see a thread based on a well-thought topic and filled with educated responses get locked because of a flamer/spammer. In your debate, attack the idea, not the person!

Keep It Neat

You might have a really insightful post, but if it's not easily-readable, chances are, few people are going to bother reading it. Bolding, italicizing, underlining and coloring are your friends. They're attention-grabbers and helps the reader navigate through your post.

Another related rule to keep in mind is the use of proper English. Even if it's not your dominant language, try your best to keep your sentences coherent and your spelling correct.

Use Your Common Sense

Many of these rules are vague. However, if you take the time to think things thoroughly before actually doing it, you can avoid a lot of trouble.

I think this point needs to be highlighted.
