The future is . . . Gundam?

Legged robots! Will we ever make it to Gundams, Knightmares, or any of the other mechs seen so often in anime?

I never thought it seemed that practical, compared to other modes of operation, like flight, or just having really big weapons, but who knows.

Am I the only one that's really freaked out by watching Big Dog move? The thing looks like it walked right out of Silent Hill.

There's also another one called T-52 Enryu, but I can't find a good video. Its not nearly as good as the Landwalker though.

Landwalker...fails basic mecha walker design.

Landwalker class mecha need reverse jointed legs for proper stability.

anyway is till too unstable to be used efficiently why ? cuz they responds too slow we something actually that goes faster than these toys... as for the design of the leg joit or no joint is ok i guess as long they respond fast enough and walk fast enough of course...

You don't care about the joints as long as it can move fast enough. Well you need a better designed jointed robot to move fast buddy...

This would not work. You can clearly see a few cables running along the bottom of the mech. All you would do is arm your men with grenades and wire cutters and you could take out quite a few of those.

The problem I have with the Landwalker isn't stability, it's that it doesn't walk, it shuffles. Since it shuffles, it can't walk on difficult terrain, which eliminates the purpose of having legs; you're better off using something on wheels and/or treads instead.

now its still just a machine that covers some of the outside but i guess this is the closest you will get to a fairly well functioning mecha thingy

and i would see this thing being a mecha in like 10 years or so

I'd want to see Mechs in the future but sadly their impractical in combat today. With the limited technology that we have at this present time it's a given. Mechs in 10-15 years could be. You just never can tell what can happen these days.
