What if hentai gets banned, PERMANENTLY?

With China's recent action on banning hentai in their country and in search results in Google, and Philippine's similar action, banning hentai seems to be something that's getting closer and closer to reality. Imagine if, maybe in a few years, you wake up and watch the news and hear that? Or your friend informs you at school/work? Or you get up to go to your favorite hentai website, this place, or any other website you frequent for your consummation of hentai and....it's gone. Been removed from the internet. "No more jacking off to cartoons!" as some people who hate hentai have said.


I couldn't help but think of this when reading everything that's been posted in other topics about how hentai is slowly being censored off the face of the earth. Rape games are banned now from Japan, and apparantly, loli is next.

All of Jacob's hard work and time invested in this website, all the uploaders, KLoWn, Afroman, G-money, Captain falcon, Seishiro (and all the others that upload), all your work, POOF! BAM! Gone.

The only hentai you'll get is what you currently have on your hard drive(s)


I find that thought to be stressful and am angry at the idea of someone who disagrees with my personal interests has the power to make it illegal.

In the U.S I say no, it's possible but highly unlikely. I say that porn is becoming a more popular thing as the internet grows. Because of this I find it unlikely that hentai will be completely banned there are so many people who would be opposed to it I don’t think it would pass. If I heard something about hentai being banned I would get off my ass and do something as I’m sure many would. Hentai isn’t something hated by political fanatics, it’s a little too popular now. Though loli is on the list next and could very easily be banned. It can be turned in to “child porn” by ignorant motherfuckers this could easily kill loli. No one wants to side with the kiddy porn after all. But hentai doesn’t have that one thing that it could be defined as other than cartoon porn and that’s not exactly “fucked up enough” for a ban in my opinion.

@lazyasschillypepper: You fucking said it. I don't know why, but it's like everywhere the system is cracking down on hentai, and I don't mean no measly cease&desist crap. They're getting banned outright. I mean come on, it's already censored which to most of us is bad enough, seeing that there's no reason for it. Now nations are banning hentai/rape games/loli content (I'm no fan of lolis, but I can imagine the rage) as if it was the holy Crusade... and that shit happened centuries ago. For all we know, doujinshi will be outlawed too... and then hentai in general will be abolished forever. The rails have been set, and it seems like the train is leaving the station. I really do envision a future with no hentai... might not be within this decade, but maybe in my lifetime it might.

Can you guys imagine the lay-offs and the unemployed simply by banning hentai? A sector of the entertainment industry gone down with thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people will be unemployed, and millions and billions of people pissed off... as I am.

Like I said before, even it happens there is virtually no way to enforce it. That's the beauty of the internet. You don't see piracy stopping any time soon, neither will the distribution of hentai. Thank God for that. ^_^

As for new material, there will always be someone.

Just remember once something exists it will always be on the internet. Would also be more incentives for people to translate more stuff that already out there.

I can't help but get the idea that they'll somehow filter it out of the internet. China, for now, seems like the most determined country to stop this and I fear it's just a matter of time before the other country's "get the ball rolling"

I feel like Japan's going to put the axe to hentai itself. It might not be now, it might not be soon. But seriously, considering that those feminists in Japan put a stop to rape games, who knows what else are they going to stop? If Japan goes under, we all go under with it with no more new material to fap with.

That's another excellent point right there. There are artists who spend their lives to become good at making doujins because they love it and they wanted to make a living off of it. FAKKU's got a few people here who they themselves want to make a profession out of this. These artists lose revenue whenever another country suddenly decides to ban it. And when you consider that the unemployement rate as it currently is, wouldn't the world just be shooting themselves in the foot?

A couple people said it already but theres no way they could ban hentai in the u.s. Its semi-underground so quite a few people dont even know it exists. Though if it goes away on japan then were all seriously fucked. I have to say though that if politicians here decided to start complaining about hentai of all things with all the other shit going on....then we have much bigger problems.

If you're to seriously ban something you'd be better starting off with an all-out tyranny and hand out death penalties to people even slightly suspected of drawing H material. That is, kill off about 98.424% (Disclaimer: Pulled out of my ass.) of the worlds current professional-level artists and still everything you've achieved would be most likely, instead of hentai, hentai of crappy quality.
