Britain gave us English, the most widely used language (note the word most WIDELY) in the world, also known as the language of business. yup... they gave us that and tennis, and countless other things..Maybe the most common learned as a second language, but as in happens it is behind Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish as the most spoken language.

Haha, this is a pretty funny topic hearing everyone's thoughts and ops on the brits. I think they're pretty cool, though maybe that's a slightly bias op with me being British!
When you guys mention a "British" accent is it a posh Londoners type thing you think of? Imo, there are a few "main" accents around. Those would belong to people from; London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle. I think most other places have no accent, Nottingham for example (oh yeah!).
Mock the Week? HELL YEAH! Can't get enough of that Frankie Boyle, though if Hugh does that Jimmy Saville joke ONE MORE TIME, I'm gonna go crazy.

I think that the British are usually agreeable people. The only thing I could say is that they use phrases that we don't hear to much in many other countries.
